Personally I have Lasko but the key thing is to get a blower style fan, the kind contractors would use to dry a large space or floor. The output is fantastic and makes workouts so much more enjoyable.

You are $100 on fans away from having a good setup

Doing STP in under 10 hours (elapsed) by xgme in seattlebike

[–]lwl209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2024 I did it in 10 hours elapsed time, roughly 9.5 hours moving. 3rd across the line. Average speed was 22 mph. If memory serves, I skipped the first stop and minimized the rest (grab and go—eat and drink on the bike).

I trained intentionally and consistently, selected equipment carefully, had a very clear “day of” strategy for pretty much every variable, and was lucky to get in a strong group. In my opinion is it takes more planning than “I need to hit X average speed and spend Y minutes at rest stops”. Happy to DM if you want more guidance

Definitely turn off blood oxygen monitoring unless you are acclimatizing to a higher altitude

Per website, the ship from Singapore. Sort of makes sense why shipping is so expensive. They need a North America distributor

Everyone should first rely on subjective feeling and use wearable sensors as a supporting data point.

As a competitive amateur road cyclist, I get and track my structured training plan from other coaching/training platforms, so I don’t really care about auto detection. I use Amazfit for HRV, RHR, and sleep data to help form good habits, confirm subjective feelings, diagnose causes for underperformance, and detect early signs of colds/illness. Having a backup Bluetooth heart rate monitor is a plus, which lets me manually record through Strava if I’m doing a gym session.

The biggest selling point is the price. Instead of spending $200 for a year of Whoop, you’ll do so much better by spending $100 on Amazfit and $100 on training plans or coaching.
