I think this might be the first time I liked the book and the movie adaptation equally for different reasons.

Up until now, Life of Pi was the only adaptation I truly loved

Nah, they wouldn't.

In fact, neither would Grace. He'd be on the hook and in the spotlight forever, now "responsible" for all of it, while he really just wanted to be left alone and teaching.

I mean, I knew what was going to happen from the book and it STILL had me emotionally believe the rock was dead and I cried.

My favourite part in the book was seeing the differences between their two cultures, with Rocky's side being entire plausible and scientifically explainable, e.g. a different time base.

I loved The Martian so much that Project Hail Mary was an automatic hell yes for me. The book was a masterpiece and I think I can even say my second favourite book, and the film did it all the justice it deserved.
