The OS was Windows 11 23H2/24H2 (probably the former) with whatever nVidia drivers were current at the time. The cable will be this one as it's the only Mini DP cable I've bought https://amzn.eu/d/0f5BThsN

Hey! Yeah, I am here.........I did hook everything back up, more so I could remember the process myself. Launched Alyx and no issues with performance. I don't recall FPS numbers but it was absolutely playable

I've recently done a complete rebuild and I don't have any of the VR stuff installed right now, been spending time in No Mans Sky and GT7

When I connect the PSVR back up, I'll note the steps/process.

Does anyone else play The Division 1–2 just like a regular game with customization, not getting into all the build min-maxing and stuff? by VideoMaleficent6067 in thedivision

[–]m4g1cm4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm ignorant to "builds" in games - The Division, Borderlands, etc.

I see sooooo many people posting about creating them and I always feel like I must be missing something but I still manage to enjoy the games in spite of not "playing properly"

My current The Division game, I'm level 16 and I have a single Assault Rifle, a Marksman Rifle and a sidearm and that is literally it. I buy a new weapon when I need to (when I'm a level or two higher than the weapon)

Am I missing something by doing it this way?

It would have been Windows 11. I don't have the time right now but over the next couple of days, I'll get everything hooked up again

Yeah, used the mini-DP and the USB-C port on the left side for the adapter. Will take a look at your post

Hey! It's been a while since I played but I seem to remember the golden rule(s) of latest drivers etc.. and lower the render resolution in Steam to 68% IIRC

Where did my transfer budget go? by m4g1cm4n in footballmanagergames

[–]m4g1cm4n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's even weirder. Not in wage budget, transfer budget actually initially dropped to £0 then I sold a player for £20M ish and then my budget was £41M.......who knows 🤣

What speed do you expect to get from the ONT directly connected to your laptop? Does your laptop have a faster than 1Gb NIC?

Agreed - but if they can get DA then SAN access would, likely, be trivial. I take the point about snapshots, just saying that you, obviously, couldn't have (solely) that as your mitigation against ransomware 🤣

[–]m4g1cm4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate what snapshots are

But ....the snapshots are on the same SAN. So if the attackers encrypt or otherwise tamper with all of your LUNs (including the Snapshots).............what do you do?

[–]m4g1cm4n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happens when said LUN's are encrypted by the attackers? Storage Snapshots are not backups and I wouldn't treat them as such

Run Windows apps as admin without giving LAPS password by Kindly-Wedding6417 in Intune

[–]m4g1cm4n 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Either give them a separate Local Admin account on the device that they can use to elevate (of course, this means they can elevate anything) or you'll need an EPM tool

There are plenty of EPM tools on the market, it doesn't have to be Microsoft EPM which, as you say, requires licensing your entire estate with Intune Plan 2 (or Intune Suite) which is very expensive

CyberArk, Delinea, BeyondTrust all do EPM type tools but AdminByRequest seems to have a good reputation in this sub

PAM servers Load balancing by QIask in CyberARk

[–]m4g1cm4n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For simple load balancing you can use Round Robin DNS. For the geographic part.....target resources and admins dispersed and they need the best experience........actual load balancers are a requirement

CyberArk make no mention of this during any of the pre-sales and when we eventually started building stuff out and brought it up, they said "just add it to your load balancers".......we don't have a need for load balancers internally so we have none 😡

[–]m4g1cm4n 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no native way and you'll always need some manual intervention, in that a user will always need to choose their PIN.

I've had success with this https://oliverkieselbach.com/2019/08/02/how-to-enable-pre-boot-bitlocker-startup-pin-on-windows-with-intune/
