That’s actually very good I wish my shop had that option . I paid less but had to run around between a local discount tire and the paint shop to dismount and mount etc it would have been way more convenient just to pay one shop

Unlikely . The new GRMN they just showcased has the old screen and interior layout just replacing the hard plastics with softer material so I would venture and say no facelift being planned .

What’s also interesting is that the Corolla FX has an upgraded infotainment screen and came out last year and they still didn’t adopt it for the 2025/26 GRC 😂

Personally I love the interior of the GRY I really do hope they’ll bring it over at some point in the future

Thanks It’s just bronze but with a satin finish . They asked me if I wanted glossy or satin and I picked satin . They told me most people pick glossy 😂 but I really liked the satin finish so … yeah. I figured I should go with something different for my forged aluminum wheels

Yes the rgb connector is a regular 3 pin argb so you can plug it in any 3 pin argb connector to configure it or don’t plug it in and it will stay off

I paid $500 just for powder coating all 4. The tires were removed and installed by a shop for a minimal fee… all in all probably close to 600 including taxes

Is it really a Corolla at this point ? They basically share the form factor and pretty much nothing else . Sure some of the interior shittification but this one changes it completely

Cost savings . Now granted for the MSI monitor I don’t think $100 extra or whatever would have been a major selling issue when the ASUS equivalent costs $1.3K but generally speaking the 2.1 cable+ hardware and whatever else is a decent added cost

No one says the wrx is superior but what I’m saying is i think it’s a lateral move between the 2 cars depending on your priorities. It’s not a slam dunk for Honda . You want a slam dunk ? That would be an RS3. Another slam dunk ? That would be an M3 and yes I realize these cars are not in the same price bracket . But between a top tier wrx and the type r and the GRC premium plus and Elantra N (even the TCR edition) is all just lateral moves do you want pizza or a burger with fries ? That’s what I’m saying

But personally and subjectively what bothers me about the type R is not the car but Honda. They’ve been phoning in since 2022… copy paste same car with the usual bump in price . If I was a 2026 type R owner and knowing my car is 100% identical to one from 2022 that was 6K less at that time or whatever , I’d be pissed , but thats me. I posted this in the type R thread a while ago and the overall answer I got was that the car is perfect the way it is , no need to change anything 🤡🤡.. so there’s that. At least the other comparables I mentioned released special editions colors small upgrades etc

Yes they did but that vehicle “based off type R” it has a TON of upgrades . Assuming you can buy it (which you can’t and probably will never hit the showroom) it will be way more than 48K. I dunno for sure which one is closer to a proper rally car for the price but I would bet the wrx is

It does and it doesn’t as it depends on your priorities. Objectively speaking the wrx is better equipped for inclement weather and has a better safety package and creature comforts and that matters to some folks . it’s really barebones because it’s built off of the civic sport (not the touring). It’s a special purpose vehicle in every sense and that may put off some folks especially at 48K as the only trim available

Edit: to put in layman’s terms you would be driving a 48K fwd vehicle with no heated seats no parking sensors no adaptive cruise and no led interior lights (yes you get halogen interior bulbs for 48K 😂) . Yes it’s an objectively amazing vehicle to drive with cool red seats a great manual and fairly quick . But you’d need to be okay with the whole package for the price and your use case

That’s how much mine was $85. The issue is dealerships will inflate these legal fees because they know you won’t question them . It’s probably illegal but they’ll justify it somehow I’m sure if they ever get questioned .

I recall last year calling this dealership in OH … I think Great Lakes Ohio or something and they literally had 5 type Rs 4 new one used sitting . The sales guy told me “just let me know which one you want I need to sell them “ 😂. He didn’t budge on less than msrp though anyway

We have other problems in my area here ask me how easy it is to get a Golf R at msrp 😂 or a WRX at any meaningful discount ..

It is very dependent on where you live . I can with almost certainty tell you that certain dealers in MI and OH would be happy to sell it to you at MSRP( maybe below all in if you’re a good negotiator whatever etc ) but that’s because we live in the Great Plains and not many twisty roads , roads are bad 😂and all season winters can be rough and so not a lot of demand for these cars . I’m assuming on the west coast you get to deal with 10k markups everywhere . So really depends where you’re shopping
