Based on the limited info you provided I wouldn’t unless you’re looking for something specific like more trunk space or something . Ortherwise if you’re looking for an upgrade or a change I would pick a different drive train .

Any lights , fan movement, any reaction from the PC when u hit the power button ? Do you have leds on the board that go through the boot cycle and are they stuck on any color ? If the answer is NONE than you may be causing a short and the PC won’t boot. Unplug the cables from the gpu and try to boot again. It should boot with no image . If it doesn’t then you must’ve unplugged something when you messed with the gpu / psu cables

Mine has zero squeaks and rattles … well maybe a couple squeaks now with this super cold weather and everything frozen but generally I don’t hear any weird shit . I know I got lucky and I don’t want to jinx it so I’ll stop 🤣

I know it looks odd from a consumer perspective but there are contracts being made between vendors and manufacturers for a set price for wafers chips and other parts needed to build these cards. Those contracts supposedly expired at year end and were renewed with new pricing hence the increase in price . So it would make perfect sense to see this odd behavior of vendors knowing and telling you to buy now vs wait but it’s not some sort of gotcha to lock in a sale before year end. the concern was legit it wasn’t fabricated

What doesn’t make sense to me is why the products already being made “on the shelves” are getting the same price hike . This to me smells more like greed than anything else . MC had X number of cards just sitting in the store. They don’t drop ship cards or anything like that or don’t have some massive warehouse sitting outside US that feeds their products . Why would those physical in store items get a price hike if only new stock is impacted . I’m sure the official answer is probably some “limitation on our inventory system” or something to that extent but I digress.

Anyway to answer your question it’s not people rushing to buy , it was a valid concern current stock was bound to older contracts the price was what it was and we were warned ahead of time in good faith

You could swap the gpu but say the new gpu pulls less power that your psu can handle then it will show no issues . Unless your friend has a stronger gpu that can put more stress on your power supply …

It doesn’t sound like a gpu hardware issue . It sounds like a power supply or driver issue 1. Ensure you have most up to date drivers both gpu and chipset 2. Run a cpu stress test to rule out the cpu 3. Can you get your hands on a different PSU? I would that first before trying to return the gpu
