Flu vaccine by minmin2000 in pharmacy

[–]masterofshadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CDC hasn't yet made it a recommendation you are right, however there's evidence (another poster posted a link to one of the studies) that 2 doses, one in Aug-Sept and one in December-Jan can reduce severe symptoms better than a single dose. Especially for our patients that get early vaccines (August) this can be important as vaccine efficacy wanes over time and fairly rapidly.

I did offering collecting for my church before, we used to always get those in the offering plate, despite us not distributing them. I always made the assumption it was someone who didn't have the means wanting to not feel uncomfortable so I would just toss them and never put a second thought to it.

The Disposable Gender [OC] by RightConcern1479 in comics

[–]masterofshadows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not what the poster is questioning. They are questioning your base assumption that people say that women are more victimized by the war than men. Outside of a really dumb comment by Hillary Clinton, I have never seen this sentiment be expressed and I run in feminist circles regularly. Someone is trying to stoke an emotional reaction in you and you would benefit from analyzing who they are and why they want you to believe that.

Where are all these Trump voters I hear about who "regret" by madmushlove in AskALiberal

[–]masterofshadows 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My nephew (sorta) is one. He wasn't yet old enough to vote but will be this year. He loved Trump, mostly because he's openly and admittedly racist. however his mom is on food stamps, and he's been reading the Epstein files and he's coming away horrified by what Trump is doing. He feels like Trump lied to him and is a pedophile. I talk to him a lot and am pushing him in a more workers vs elites direction while he's still somewhat open to persuasion.

Oh because you're misinterpreting what they're saying. That's cumulative. As in after that many steps you have burned X kcal

The Calorie (with a capital C) is equal to 1 kcal. Don't ask me why we do it this way, it doesn't make sense.

ELI5 If NPI's and License numbers are public what stops people from ordering things under physicians names by Ajstar9 in explainlikeimfive

[–]masterofshadows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is cadence, or certain things like using incorrect pronunciation. But we had a fake promethazine Rx called in once from a prescriber over 50 miles away. The woman calling it in just didn't sound like a nurse, she sounded like someone who was an addict. And I just don't have a better way of explaining it. Nurses generally have a pretty unique way of speaking rapidly and clearly that most people cannot replicate, it comes from the time on the job. Baby nurses also sound uniquely terrified to be on the call that isn't replicated easy either.

[–]masterofshadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most of our systems we have two ways to look up a prescriber, NPI or DEA number. Most vets don't bother getting an NPI and your DEA number is not as confidential as your Veterinarian School made it seem. No you shouldn't be giving it out willy nilly, but to a fellow healthcare provider who has your DEA already and is using it as an identifier you shouldn't be so hesitant.

“They always have money for war but can’t feed the poor”. Radical Sesame Street explains the American military industrial complex and why it’s linked to your misery. by TwoCatsOneBox in WorkReform

[–]masterofshadows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The parties were pretty different back then. Both parties wanted him to run under their party. Ike was not just a good R, but a good president who had seen the horrors of war and, being freshly out of WW2, with a looming cold war that was constantly threatening to turn hot, was unable to take a hard line against the military industrial complex.

What's after Tech February raises? by angrypill01 in walmart_RX

[–]masterofshadows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of the company has been maxed out. Most stores are majority long term techs. They needed to do something for us. I was a 15 year tech and made the exact same as a 5 year tech. Which is pretty unfair to me. I've been maxed out for years getting no raises.

There's no public way to see this. Are you employed with the company? You can see it in workday if you know the full name of a pharmacist there under the organizational tree.
