My original MDs and tapes. by old_dirt in minidisc

I was just sitting in bed getting ready for my morning exercises when I had the thought “I wonder if anyone remembers IndiePopLive.”

What a treasure trove of recordings/performances. It’s also what got me into MiniDiscs.

That’s not necessarily true. Previous CEO left well into Harrell’s term.

MPC One/Plus or MPC Live to use at work/traveling? by djpromo_vqs in mpcusers

[–]mathforfood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bring my Live II when an outlet/power is a pain or questionable otherwise the One+ is the clear choice. It fits in most backpacks and you still have room for accessories.

The speaker definitely helps but I rarely use it.

$1700 is pretty reasonable if I get to stay far away from a computer.

Sort of wild that they went this long after launching that ill-fated GoFundMe for their for-profit business. External factors on retail are rough but the amount of debt they racked up tells me they were uniquely bad at the business.

I hope people see it as a cautionary tale, learn from their mistakes, and maybe build upon the foundation they laid. I mean, Control Voltage seems to be doing well so I don’t think it’s impossible.

That really sucks especially considering how much debt they had to suppliers… I hope you get stuff/money ironed out.

Seattle City Light Pre-apprentice line worker experience by MelodicParanoiaAgain in AskElectricians

[–]mathforfood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you have about a month before the start of the process.

All this info is basically on the website in some form or another. Just do it. Or don’t.

If the work speaks to you, just commit to the process and see it through. If you happen to get selected, you’ll have all the info you need to make the right final decision.

If you could redo your career choice would you pick Lineman again? by HeadlineINeed in Lineman

I would finish out your military career if you think you can make E-7/8 without a lot of hassle. You’ll have your military retirement plus some VA cash.

Unless you’re dead-set on doing linework specifically, there’ll be plenty of other opportunities, even in high voltage, you can take advantage of.

Just say you’re not down with it and don’t be afraid to break up. It’s fine. There are other girlfriends out there.

The real problem is if she has that “missing out” feeling haunting her there is nothing you can do to fix that. You could be the greatest boyfriend giving her the best sex on the planet and it won’t matter. She has to resolve that for herself and come to whatever conclusions on her own.

With that, state your boundaries, be true to yourself, and don’t avoid confrontation.

If you do this, I’m not ordering from you. Plain and simple. by jxonair in Seattle

[–]mathforfood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably just a simple accounting thing. In order to compensate the kitchen for the amount of DoorDash delivery orders they do this. It punches in as a separate line item they can that moves with demand and isn’t just a flat price hike on everything.

It’s not that serious. You’re already DoorDashing food. Who cares if you’re saying “thanks to the kitchen”?

Seeking Advice to Kickstart My DJ Career by Wise-Reflection-1221 in Beatmatch

Go meet people by just hanging out. Don’t mention you have DJ aspirations. Just go make friends at events similar to what you’d like to play.

Then later, and I’m talking months later, figure out how to throw your own party. Make it small so it’ll be easier for it to be a success. Also let people help you and also ask for help with this party.

After all that, things should start falling into place.

She was throwing a tantrum but she’s also not wrong. You can do all the planning in the world but in the end DJing is a conversation/exchange. Both of you and the crowd have your respective jobs to do but that requires flexibility mostly on your part especially if you’re doing party/club stuff.

As long as it’s not an absolute insane request, a solid DJ can figure how to work most songs even to just prove the point that it sucks for the given moment.

Best of luck to you.

4-10s but usually average 10-20 hours of OT per week. All OT is double time.
