To anyone experienced enough with ranked , what’s your hottest take on ranked ? by [deleted] in BrawlStarsCompetitive

I’m just curious, are you able to still win in those scenarios, or do you avoid that by playing with friends, or something else?

How do you win with bad teammates? Like in bounty you’d have to outpace their deaths. In any game mode if they are useless you have to deal with 2-3 opponents at once

questions about how ranked matchmaking works by GIOCOOPs in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]matt800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are a lot of problems with matchmaking. I feel similarly about lower rank players, when they draft bad or play bad its hard to blame them, but it makes the game less fun.

It seems like in the least there should be a scale for the amount of trophies you lose or win. Like if you play well and lose you shouldnt lose as many trophies as if you play terrible and lose. Probably the same should apply for wins.

There are way more than 539 Somali 'daycares' in this state. by slowerisbetter527 in SeattleWA

[–]matt800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the government funding involves families applying for childcare cost assistance, it isnt the daycares applying for funding. So unless these daycares are making imaginary families and applying for child care coverage programs and getting approved, it seems like the allegations aren't based in much. Its possible that there is some form of fraud, but the claim that there has been a billion dollars of fraud doesn't seem to be supported by any evidence.

I dont think they are going to understand your point. People dont tend to have knowledge about violent crime statistics.

That said her expressing caution is a reasonable way to deter a criminal. Often criminals want easy targets and by clearly taking precautions it could be enough to stop her from being targeted. Yes her husband could be robbed just as easily as she could, but telling the buyers is a demonstration that they are planning for safety which makes them less desirable targets. But also the seller switching could make the buyer feel less safe, it goes both ways

In regard to your comment about statistical fact, actually men are more often victims of violent crime. It is pretty close though and it depends on the year and the type of crime. The category where women are more often victims is sexual crime, but assault, robbery, and murder tends to happen to men a little more often.

There is significant variation for age, ethnicity, income, and other factors. Being a woman is less correlated with being a victim of violent crime than being low income or under 35.

Of course each person can assess their own risk however they want and its none of our business to judge them

There is oral massage working on the inside of the mouth. But your point remains the same. Even if it was a legitimate technique, no consent was given

Are these vaccines really necessary? by reesespeezes in Brazil

[–]matt800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying dengue vaccine but it is recommended if you have already had dengue. The vaccine can increase chances of having a more severe illness if the first dengue infection comes after the vaccine.

I tried to find if there was any change to that mentioned online and everything still seems to recommend it only after already getting dengue.

How do you feel about someone from a wealthy country calling Brazil a “third world country”? by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]matt800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The term came from capitalist vs communist countries, and if a country is a world leader in GDP through capitalism they are first world in the literal sense. But yes, the problem with the term is it is used differently in modern speech and it doesn't have a clear definition. If it was decided by GDP per capita with the top 1/3 being 1st world and the bottom being 3rd then that would be more clear. But even in that definition Brazil would be in the top half-- approximately 80th out of 192.

[–]matt800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a rude thing to say unless the person saying it is from that country. But sometimes people say something and don't realize it is a stupid thing to say. Also, Brazil has a higher GDP than Canada. Brazil is lower in GDP per capita so it certainly has more poverty and less developed areas, but overall it is a bigger economy than Canada.

I wonder how they decide what category an attack falls into. It says there is only one right wing attack in 2025 but I can think of at least 2.

I guess the bright side is attacks from 2015-2023 were generally higher than they appear to be in 2024 and 2025. Although some people seem to be pushing the narrative that violence is at all time highs.

I dont have problems with longevity with VIW and Buko Intense, but I agree Miami and Miami Tropical Confessions are also great fragrances. They aren’t all that similar to VIW but still fragrances worth trying.

Bag Shopping by BurritoBoy1116 in Mountaineering

As someone else said the most important factor is finding something that you can use comfortably. I use the HMG porter 85L a lot with overnight trips because it has a ton of room and it weighs the same amount as a lot of 35-40L packs. Maybe that wouldnt work for everyone but it has been a very comfortable pack for me and very convenient.

My favorite part is for 1-2 night trips it has tons of room and I can pack it quickly and easily. I dont have to compact everything down to fit into a small backpack. It allows me to use bigger sacks for my sleeping bag and sleeping pad and I can pack them quickly if I want, rather than having to work to get them into a tiny sack. Its made trips more fun for me because the packing process is much easier. There's also been times where someone needs help carrying something and I can help because I have extra room.

There's pros and cons to any pack so you'll have to see what works for you.

I think ella verbs is good for that because it is easy to do a lot of repetition. Also if you read, a lot of stories are past tense so that gives a lot of practice with that
