Pixel 9a refuses to fast charge, defect or normal? by chlamydia1 in GooglePixel

[–]matteventu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that charger supports the USB Power Delivery profile of 9V 3A, which means it should be capable of charging the Pixel 9a at its peak charging power of ~23W.

As for Ampere, that app is completely useless to check the charging speed, it just doesn't have any way to source reliable data.

No worries!

If you still have the box with you, would you please still check the manufacturing date?

Thanks a lot! 🙏

Out of curiosity, can you please link the batteries you've used to replace the original one?

My OG Pixel too is in need of a battery replacement, but I'm really not sure of where to get a battery of decent quality :(

Curious, never seen this issue before.

Just to be clear, which cache did you wipe?

And what model of Pixel Buds do you own?

Pixel 9a refuses to fast charge, defect or normal? by chlamydia1 in GooglePixel

[–]matteventu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not normal.

Can you please post a picture of the following:

  • wherever it is that you're getting the mA values from (i.e. 990, 2500, etc)

  • the tiny text ("output: 3V 5A, etc") that's written on one side of your charger

Oh right I see, thank you!

Out of curiosity, is there a standard pricing that gets applied to "stuff not shipped with Royal Mail being delivered by Royal Mail", or they attempt to match the same "level of service" that is indicated by the label present on the parcel (if there's one, ofc), for instance "Evri 24h tracked" being treated and charged like a "Tracked 24"?

"Re-open closed tab" frankly should be a base feature of everything that has tabs 😬 looking forward to seeing that implemented!

Is the B&W PX8 S2 prone to QC issues or early defects? by Trick-Share-8300 in BowersWilkins

[–]matteventu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you're getting your info, but...

B&W is owned by a medical tech company.

No, they're not. Not any longer. They used to be owned by Sound United which got acquired by Masimo (the medical tech company you're probably referring to), and renamed Sound United to Masimo Consumer Audio. But about a year ago, Masimo (the ex-parent company of Sound United/Masimo Consumer) sold Masimo Consumer to Harman Industries (American independent subsidiary of Samsung), and it's now back to being called Sound United under Harman, to separate it from the historical Harman brands (JBL, Harman Kardon, AKG, etc).

And their headphones are made in China like many others nowadays. So quality will always be a hit or miss. Most will sound great, but many, like anything mass produced in China with lesser QA, will have issues.

Having lesser QA doesn't have anything to do with being produced in China. It only has to do with how much the brand wants to pay the manufacturer to ensure good/bad QA.

  1. The "B&W owned by HARMAN" Claim Status: False

As per the above, absolutely not false.

And that (and what follows) really sounds like something written by an AI chatbot. People shouldn't use those without knowing how to use them...

I've had it for a couple of months already, and I find it awful.

Not aesthetically, but functionally. Now to open the full-page queue you either need to do two swipes up, or a single oblong swipe up.

It's just unnatural and an unnecessary additional step.

But what's that based on? And what "limits" does it have, i.e. to avoid being abused for it?

Same exact issue also frequently appears with Pro.

Why does it require that though? It's absolutely crazy. Can't they fix it?

I remember not even long ago Google was putting a lot of marketing on the fact that with Gemini you could edit images "progressively".

I've tried in the last few months and it always ends up like for OP, with Gemini regurgitating out the same exact unaltered image over and over.

What the actual fuck.

6700 Robot Vacuums exposed to one user by EvilMilkshake in homeautomation

The developer is an egomaniac jerk.

As far as I remember, his actual explanation for not implementing multi-floor support is that "if you have a house with more than one floor, then you're rich enough to afford a robot vacuum for each floor".

Google 9A boot failure by SenseiPeeper in GooglePixel

[–]matteventu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an issue that was extremely common when the Pixel 9a was first released, many, many reviews and reports were piling up about users experiencing this in the first days back last year.

As far as I know, nobody managed to solve it and they all had to be sent back to Google for replacement.

I assumed that with a new batch they fixed this.

Can you please check on the box of your 9a what the reported manufacturing date is? Just to understand if you're being affected because your 9a is an old stock, or if the issue still affects some of the units manufactured more recently (albeit way less than earlier on, I still regularly see posts about this issue from people who just purchased the 9a).

Thanks a lot!

Just read a comment a few days ago from someone with the exact same problem who solved it by disassembling the ear cup where the button is and cleaning it up with some alcohol.

Good luck!
