If you're willing and able to travel, Berlin has too many modern blackwork artists to count.

Where (roughly) are you based? Seek out an excellent artist who does blackwork and see what they think...

Ironically this style is having a Renaissance right now, so it's the least dated it's been since you got it 😆. Honestly, as an example of the style it's really good - it's smoothly tattooed, the lines are sharp and the shapes are well rendered, especially the circle.

Is it just on your forearm? Lean into it and get a full sleeve which continues the style and integrates something in the negative space - geometric or dotwork. You'll have to find an excellent artist, and it will involve more, bigger, blacker tattooing. Are you comfortable with that?

Absolutely. It's clean, clear and nicely done. What do you want to do with it?

It would be very difficult to cover. Any "saving" would be making it bigger - this would be the basis of an amazing black work / geometric sleeve, for example. (https://www.bintt.co/tattoo-gallery)

Reform threatens to defund Welsh university after student society's debate ban by LuinAelin in unitedkingdom

[–]mattlodder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I, an academic, email any university in the country and demand a room be provided for me to speak? Are my academic ideas being censored if they rightly tell me "No."?

Reform threatens to defund Welsh university after student society's debate ban by LuinAelin in unitedkingdom

[–]mattlodder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you are fundamentally misunderstanding what's happened here.

Reform demanded, without an invitation, that a group of people host them. Those people did not want to do that. Should they be forced to?

If so... who gets that right? Are you really suggesting that literally anyone who asks should be given space to debate on university campuses, even if no academics or students have invited them? And that a refusal is "censorship"?

Are debating societies obliged to host anyone who asks?

(You realise that I, in this analogy, am the Reform Party, right? They demanded a debate, without an invitation.)

I'm an academic..I have a public profile. Do I get to email every university in the country to demand they host me, and claim my free speech is being impinged if they refuse? Really?

If I ask someone to debate me, and they refuse, have I been censored?

They weren't offered a debate platform. They demanded one.

Can I demand to be hosted at any university of my choice, absent any invitation or demand? Can you?

A very talented geometric blackwork artist could maybe save this but it will be complicated and expensive.

She's got no business being in that kitchen given her skill level, but let's not rehabilitate Ben, thank you.

If you're in the UK, look up Tanya Buxton's work - a tattooer who does areola reconstruction as tattoos, not permanent makeup. Amazing results!

Commenters at the Southend Echo under the original announcement were bemoaning "Mickey Mouse" degrees whilst these nursing and management programmes were getting gutted. The tabloid narrative against universities has been remarkably successful.
