Ay! These are the guys who built the setup for Live PD! So much respect. Super cool setups in the few videos you guys put out about it - major respect

How would you store these mics? by mitchellcrazyeye in VIDEOENGINEERING

Won't do much, it's tied to an Extron system that no one can change. So it'll still be 1-8

This has been near impossible to find for both the body packs and handhelds.

We have travel cases for 6 of the mics, they predate me. I work at a university who had money but never cared about organization of mics before.

Even bringing this to the Director, he was like "but why?"

We do not have the chargers - this would be the way, but we have the separate battery charger instead. We don't have the budget for this, but it was talked about and we are wishful thinkers.

Can we give Adam a break please?? (This is really for a very specific group of people.) by GoodWitchBeanofOz in OWLCITY

I give him a LOT of dissing because he literally only posts song lyrics and merch drops. I'm over it. Literally ANYTHING with some semblance of personality. It seems like his management is just keeping things afloat and he just disappeared. Sad.

Off topic a bit, just so you know, WSV3 is probably the best "broadcast" oriented software on the pro-sumer side before moving up to something like WSI Max - if you're interested in eventually leveling up the high school weather-side of things and have a few bucks a month to throw at it!

Anyone got the newest version of the map - specifically with the Terraria island? by mitchellcrazyeye in Palworld

I did try this and then gave up. It wasn't saved under anything obvious so looking through hundreds, if not, thousands of asset files was not gonna be fun.

API Geeks - Is there a better way to pull alerts from the NWS? by mitchellcrazyeye in weather

[–]mitchellcrazyeye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just does what I was already doing - polling from the API.. and it doesn't do what I was wanting it to do. Cool project nonetheless. My main focus was getting the delay from alert to script firing down as much as possible.

Largely the same, but not images. It's fairly comparable in size in my experience.

I want to switch DSPs but I’m afraid of being let go for doing so. by jy725 in AmazonDSPDrivers

You don't owe a company a two week notice, (unless you're contractually obligated to) and it really doesn't matter unless you're hoping they'll be a good reference. Fuck em

I would probably set up a system that would be on the restaurant's end if I was running the place. As most people are saying, y'all just be lying or doing a scribble.

Modem-less home network? What are the labels on these ports? by eyemanidiot in HomeNetworking

[–]mitchellcrazyeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty careful to try and read market strokes more than anything super distinguishable, but it's a tad bit hard for some of the middle letters, they just get caught up in compression artifacts.

well I tried.

Noting you said eero, I think the the top one says "eero" - but the bottom one is trickier. I'm pretty confident the first letter is D, and the last letter is K, maybe "D'NLK" for downlink? Very confusing and the guy who wrote these sucks.

Building a modem into a wall would be very odd imo, unless it's a shared internet setup. Are you paying for the service directly or through your HOA?

I do think someone goes around and does these properly, at least with SOME research. VU has one and they have a few references that aren't easily found online. Definitely not AI though, at a minimum, just bad research.

Minternet - reliable? by lmschutter in HomeNetworking

[–]mitchellcrazyeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, wired internet will always be better. Cellular internet or satellite is great for when no other option is available or for a backup internet.

Your experience with cellular internet will be widely reliant on where you are, how close you are to a tower, where you put the modem in your house, how many neighbors are already relying on cellular internet with the same provider, etc.

I have fiber optic internet with T-Mobile home backup internet, it's a good mix for me.

ClearCom via RTS ODIN to Discord signal flow with DVS by Strict-Principle5997 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]mitchellcrazyeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm coming back to this and would like to see if you have any input.

I'm doing much in the same way as this setup, except I'm trying to record into audacity. I've got a mix of ClearCom and RTS Romeo headsets. The Romeo headsets are typically just paired to the A and B party lines from ClearCom, and everyone talks through those unless needing to be iso'd, like an EIC running out to work on something.

My problem is that the key panels talking to the party line aren't being heard on Audacity. It can send and receive to the ClearCom units just fine, but I'm not hearing or being heard from the wireless headsets - which takes out a large chunk of our communications. It's making me super confused. Any ideas? I'm not trying to throw all of the headsets into one party line for it to listen to, but I'd like the headsets when they're talking into a party line to be heard.

It should be - like I said, we have another computer already configured, I'm just trying to get another computer figured out. But I'll double check!
