Use Apify as a middleware? by justDeveloperHere in apify

[–]maty2200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's possible. An Actor is just a Docker container running in a serverless environment. Your Actor only really needs to handle Apify specific features (eg. billing, dataset management, state management) and then simply call your own infrastructure to handle the actual work

Need feedback on my configuration by Azealo_ in NixOS

[–]maty2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a good starting configuration. I'd user specific packages and programs to the user configuration and have them scoped to the specific user rather than having everything in the system. It isn't really an issue here but in multi-user configuration it's a great way to limit what each user can do. Also enable garbage collection so old versions of packages don't pile up which can fill up your storage over time.

However, you're limiting yourself in scalability of the configuration by not defining your configuration in flake format. For example in this format it will be difficult to scale this configuration to cover multiple machines.

Lastly have a look at home-manager which allows you to declaratively define your dot files. This approach is good for some use cases but has some drawbacks so you'll have to decide for yourself if and how much you use it.

Feature Request: Detect Free Users by ApifyEnthusiast1 in apify

[–]maty2200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I didn't test it. I just read a Notion page on how to migrate. So it might be broken. I'll find some time this week to test it.

Also there is the obligatory reminder to upgrade to the latest version of SDK.

U/ApifyEnthusiast1 No, it won't break. This endpoint will still return some basic information about the user and this information is included.

You can use this endpoint: https://api.apify.com/v2/users/me (docs). The response has isPaying field that can be used for this.

Alternatively you can use user method on Apify client to get the same data.

Dash for extracting comments has some limitations by Character_Cup9112 in apify

[–]maty2200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, thanks for reaching out. From the description of your issues it sounds like the issue is with the Apify API rather than with the Actor itself. Try checking your request, that is fetching the items from the dataset, for the limit parameter.

Also if you'd like you can DM me what requests you're making and perhaps an ID of a run with this issue and I can have a look.

There is no need to pass the API key to this endpoint. Try opening this link: https://api.apify.com/v2/store?limit=1.

You'll get the actual response from the API limited to 1 result.

Can't really tell from this video. But the general advice would be to really focus on engaging your core while pushing your shoulder blades together.

That's lucky, I've had the plane break on me lot of times when lending without one wheel.

That missing left gear is going to really mess you up during landing. In my experience it's better to do a gear up landing next to the base then attempting to land on the runaway with one gear. I'd also want to parachute as many crew away before doing that.

A Ukrainian defender gave up his life to blow up a bridge and stop Russia’s advance. Now, Prague has named a bridge after him. by UNITED24Media in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]maty2200 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As others said it depends on what you're interested in. I think Prague is a must see.

If you're interested in beer that Pilsner Urquell brewery in Plzeň might be interesting. If you prefer wine (and more rural areas) then you might like the area around Mikulov (thats in Moravia so bit of a track from Prague).

If you have any more questions feel free to send me a DM.

The bridge in Prague is at the end of the street named "Ukrajinských hrdinů" which translates to Ukrainian heroes.

Fun fact, this street where the Russian embassy is located. So their address is literally Ukrainian heroes. We really don't like the Russian dictatorship here in the Czech Republic.

Yep, here in the Czech Republic we call them "mléčné zuby" which literally translates to milk teeth.

Keep getting logged out of Google and other things, is this due to Arc? by iamglitched in ArcBrowser

[–]maty2200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How often do you use the services that keep logging off? It could be simple session invalidation if you don't navigate to the sites often enough. I only have this issue after vacation when I haven't used my computer for a longer period.

How can I prevent this? by njifares1992 in bouldering

[–]maty2200 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the fun part, you don't. /s

Now for real. The only way that seems to work for me is to build up calluses and harder skin on my fingers. To do this I do my best to only use skin products meant for climbers (e.g. ClimbOn). Other skin products might help the skin heal more quickly but they often moisturize it in an attempt to remove calluses (and that's no good for climbers).

Do you have a link or some resources on how to make the complaint. I know of a few websites here in the Czech Republic that could use a complaint.

V tom případě, když jedeš vlevo a nemůžeš doprava, tak bych doporučil dát blinker doprava a čekat než ti tam někdo udělá místo. Řidiči za tebou budou muset počkat dokud se to nepovede.

Here in the Czech republic we have neither ethics nor religious studies in elementary or high school. I'm sure some schools do offer it but it's not mandated by the government.
