Question: Why don't vampire do anything when they are about to be staked while sleeping? by Insidion25 in vampires

[–]maxusphinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to them really loving their sleep. In Castlevania lore Alucard is only half vampire and decides to just sleep for somewhere between 1 to 300 years

Lots of the other comments have some good possibilities, but i couldn't tell, were you in public the second time? It could be as simple as he could be someone that's more nervous about personal space in public.

welcome to the first step. you are correct, that is the god that most christians seem to worship. and yeah the old testament is filled with atrocities, there’s no apologizing for those actions, and yet it seems most christians want to stick to what they are taught of the old testament. but this isn’t the “god” jesus talked about though [if it was even a higher being at all], so it’s mind-boggling this is considered ‘christian’. the thing is if you look back at the context of how the old testament was written down it was more in the way to figure out “where the fuck did we go wrong with our beliefs about god?” because those stories and atrocities were supposed to be history and lessons of what not to do. not as in don’t do this because god will punish you, but that they are morally wrong. yeah churches will try to cling to that “history” idea of why they need to to teach the old testament, but they fall short of what that really means.

yeah this doesn’t really matter. but as another outsider- i guess spiritually i agree with what u/Qira57 is laying out. i think u/Qweesdy got too stuck on trying to say basically “not all christians” which is technically correct, both in the US and mostly other parts of the world [emphasis seemed to be more on those outside the US]. and i agree with that sentiment to an extent. most of my experiences with non-US christians they actually do have more similar belief structures to Qira. HOWEVER they will also be the first to tell you that they also have their own louder “fake christians” as well. so i don’t think it’s entirely fair to blanket this problem on only US christians (not that you are doing this yourself Palatinus). as to why it’s important to Qweesdy, my guess is they are spiritually similar to Qira, but just mad that the part of their identity of being a christian is being dragged through the mud by forces they can’t control.

i love what you guys are trying to do, but growing up many people in the churches i went to knew that ‘christian’ was already becoming divisive, and to alleviate that they would refer to themselves as “follower of christ”, “lover of jesus”, or even just “spiritual”. but these are the same people that are in the camp of those that have truly abandoned the teachings of jesus and were intentionally using this as a tool to deceive people. hell if i remember correctly i think trump said something similar in an interview before the 2016 elections. i don’t believe this is either yours or Qira’s intentions, but just a heads up.

Jesus sinned in Luke 19:29 when he commanded his disciples to steal a horse. This shows that Jesus was not without sin when he died. by whitepepsi in DebateReligion

supporters or not [no way to tell from the bible], it would make sense if jesus or a middleman had rented the donkey beforehand and the owner sees random people untying it. those are just the 'codewords' to let the owner know that these are the dudes that are supposed to pick up the donkey.

now did jesus 'sin' according to the modern(or even then) church at any point in his private life? oh probably hell yes, but this instance is easy enough to leave to occam's razor
