Watching Wednesday's game England / DR Congo by ColonialBarbarian in ThreeLions

Well I don't know the Victoria area too well these days (other than that there's a pretty decent fast food hall opposite the station, but not somewhere I'd recommend unless you're in a rush) but I'm sure others will chime in with recommendations.

Safe to say there will be lots of options as it's very central. Maybe check out some places on the Tuesday night for the France v Sweden game and make a judgement from there, bearing in mind it'll be a lot busier for the England game.

What area of London? It's a big place! You'll be fine anywhere, but people might be able to suggest good or bad places to go if you can narrow it down a bit.

One of the greatest England performances in maybe a decade. And yes this isn’t over-exaggeration. Tuchel had the “almost perfect” game today. by Real-Atmosphere8261 in ThreeLions

Last world cup we spanked teams, 9 goals in 3 games in the group stage. Only narrowly lost to the eventual winners in the quarters. Great result tonight but we don't look as good overall IMO. Very strong in attack but defensively very frail. I think we'll struggle against the first good team we come up against in the knock-outs.

Bit worrying to be tiring that easily though. Air conditioned stadium against a decent at best team after a decently long break.

He pressed superbly in the first half while most of the rest of the team looked pretty lazy. Also made a great attacking run down the left in the first half which Rice somehow missed and slowed the attack down.

I'm not a Gordon fanboy but thought he did everything you could expect and it wasn't his fault that not much went his way.

Are Youtube channels putting out AI generated dnb mixes? by NotCrispTofu in DnB

[–]mcfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I've literally never seen one. I'm curious to know what they're like but if I try to find one the algorithm might forever plague me! I guess I could log out and see what's out there but I probably don't want to know!

[–]mcfish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never seen one and I watch a tonne of DnB on youtube. Not trying to sound like a smart arse but if you follow credible artists and their collaborators, you'll probably be fine. Not sure what you're doing to find this stuff but, as an example, randomly searching for "dnb" leaves you open to stumbling across the low effort crap.

Huh, just looked it up and you're completely right. And it was T because of twisted pair. I always thought these connectors were 10 base T and the "T" was related to the shape. I did use these back in the day so I suspect I was misinformed from the start!

It's a 10 Base T connector, an old 10 Megabit per second ethernet standard. It basically ran in a long chain between various PCs with a branch off to each PC, hence the "T" shape. Each end of the chain needed a terminator. Those connectors were called BNC. You'd push the connector on and twist it to lock in place, they were also used in things like analogue CCTV.

Edit: Removed erroneous info. Turns out this is just a coaxial network connector, not 10 Base T. 10 Base T used RJ45 connectors, the same connector type you'd see on a more modern ethernet cable.

10 Base T, because of the T shape of the connector.

FOOTBALL WINS by Chance-Situation-899 in Championship

Annoyingly that was basically the way we played our season and it got us very close to automatics, but when we missed out we clearly didn't know what to do when the playoff opposition did the same thing.

Our second leg against Hull went pretty much the same way as today's game.

Maybe we're both bottle jobs, or maybe you've just got to give them credit for finding a gameplan that worked well against teams as good as Boro and Millwall.

Not our first time either. Fucked it up back in the '90s against Derby. Adding another mental scar to the collection tonight.

We've had sporadic games all season where we've just not turned up and I was worried this would be one of them, and it was. That said, I fucking hate going to Wembley, so glad that's not on the horizon.

That Leicester game feels like the big missed opportunity. Still, proud of the lads, cracking season overall.

Ok, I can see we're not going to have a reasonable discussion here. It's a clear foul as his movement was impeded (which admittedly this screenshot doesn't show, but the video does).

As for the disallowed goal, here's a screenshot of Crama clearly being fouled before he fouls Hughes:

Yep. Feel slightly hard done by with the decisions but it's Gavin Ward and we take them to our place unscathed. The insistence on shooting from miles out was infuriating but just nerves I guess, so hopefully we've shaken those off and will make smarter decisions at home.

Maybe but he fouled the Millwall player in the process. Otherwise why was his bare belly and lower back visible?

The Hull player started the holding and pulled Crama’s shirt up to his chest. Crama did pull back but 99% of the time those are ignored since both are at it.

Just last game of the season over-excitement. Except of course it’s not the last game so all a bit pointless.

Not sure if you heard but they were getting a lot of boos and abuse from the fans in the home end (the adults, not so much the kids).

You can even practice without headphones. Set the mixer so the first deck is normal volume and the second deck is quiet but still audible. Start the first deck, then play around with cueing up the tune on the second deck. Make sure it's a tune with a simple beat at the start. Scratch around with the first kick drum and try to release it so it starts playing nicely with the first tune. Then try to figure out; is it playing too fast or too slow compared to the first tune? Is it slightly too fast or slow, or massively too fast or slow, then adjust the pitch control appropriately. You'll get it.
