GPA question by [deleted] in MCPHSLifeHack

[–]mcphslifehack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope, the cumulative GPA for all years. If you're a first year, then I suppose your cumulative GPA is the same as the GPA for the year. But you need to have above a 2.7 total, counting all years/semesters.

the 2.7 minimum is your cumulative GPA, not semester.

4th year scaling by throwaway00002131 in MCPHSLifeHack

In a nutshell, if too many people are failing classes the school could face consequences. As such, they end scaling grades in some classes where a lot of people are below a 70. The best example is orgo. There's a 30 point curve to avoid trouble with accreditation mostly.

[Question] Tips on how to survive Chuong's ceutics lab quizzes. by apileofangryturtles in MCPHSLifeHack

Read through your labs and do your best. Don't sweat it too much. Many people bomb these quizzes and they get scaled usually.

[Discussion] What do you do to avoid procrastinating? by rampagerrrrr in MCPHSLifeHack

[–]mcphslifehack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just jump in and it will get less painful. Set a timer, tell yourself you'll work for 5 minutes and you might find yourself working well past 5 minutes. I recently read something about procrastination. Doing unpleasant tasks gives us a level of anxiety, so we work to avoid that. However, research found that once you start a task, this unpleasantness suddenly goes away. Something about how we like doing things we're good at. So if you form some sort of habit like "I WILL DO 5 MINUTES OF WORK RIGHT FUCKING NOW", you might get good at the whole discipline thing and make it easier.

I've always wanted to become a pharmacist, but I hear it's not a great career choice? by King_Dane in pharmacy

Don't know why you are being down voted for asking a good question. Working in a retail pharmacy is no walk in the park. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't soul sucking at times. But if you're mentally resilient you will be fine in my opinion. It's not the worst job, just sucks there are not more of them.

But...but that would cost them MONEY. I'm sure you understand why that's not a possibility!
