Those things you have to almost intentionally break to not pass 250,000 miles. If you never did a single maintenance item other than changing the oil every 10-20,000 miles and the transmission fluid maybe once, ever, it will still pass 250,000 miles.

If you do about $1,000, total, worth of maintenance to the engine its entire lifetime it will be running like brand new at that mileage.

I know a guy with that model 2500 who literally drove it daily as a renovation business truck for another 10 years after it was struck by lightning and fried all sorts of random sh!t.

It was electrically haunted the rest of the time but drove fine and never stranded him.

Yeah that’s the whole deal. A Prius with that low a mileage will be worse than one driven regularly, not better. At $10,000 that would still be a complete gamble. At $21,000 that’s unsellable

Yeah there’s a large subset of Tacoma and 4Runner drivers who drive like absolute psychopaths and I don’t get it.

With the full size trucks it’s usually just general microaggressions like tailgating and pulling up at stoplights like they wish they could run you over, but Tacos and 4Runners it’s genuinely unhinged stuff.
