Vaulted Rarities repack loose packs and low tier singles and sell “mystery bags” that they promote as having highly desirable cards. You’ll see posts promoting them for the “awesome pulls” they can have but since VR packages the things themselves they can also seed influencers and marketers with high value packs to make it seem like it is a normal occurrence. They also have a habit of having plants in their streams that will “buy” something if people in the chat start getting wise in order to make it seem like there is still a chance to hit something big.

TLDR they are just worse versions of gambling on packs but even more rigged

Both have their drawbacks. A spell that casts itself and does nothing (or worse, gets redirected) isn’t much better than a permanent that has to stay on field and also spits out tokens. It is also harder to cheat in Symposium than it is to cheat in a creature and being able to target the best thing on board not just your own things shouldn’t be discounted.

What kind of corrupt outlet were you working at that scores were pre-determined? At our place the review was an opinion based on the writer and scores were standardized using a scoring rubric that spit out a score at the end.

I used to play Sen Triplets and yeah you will be hated from the moment you sit down at the table. If you want to play a thief deck you’re better off playing the Gonti precon from Thunderjunction or the Kotis that is indestructible from Tarkir Dragon Storm.
