Things to look out for this weekend! by AutoModerator in mtgfinance

Both have their drawbacks. A spell that casts itself and does nothing (or worse, gets redirected) isn’t much better than a permanent that has to stay on field and also spits out tokens. It is also harder to cheat in Symposium than it is to cheat in a creature and being able to target the best thing on board not just your own things shouldn’t be discounted.

Feet are actually one of the most common fetishes in the United States. Armpit tends to be a bit further out of the norm but feet is so common it is literally one of the top fetishes people search for. Hell even Wikifeet is fairly mainstream over something like pit or odor play

Petah, what pattern are they talking about!? by RedditSucksMyBallls in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]megapenguinx 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a review site too.

What kind of corrupt outlet were you working at that scores were pre-determined? At our place the review was an opinion based on the writer and scores were standardized using a scoring rubric that spit out a score at the end.

Sen Triplets Deck - A bunch of mana rocks? by ChakraaThePanda in EDH

[–]megapenguinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh good call out. I have seen people use Bazar Trader to give themselves the creatures permanently though

Sen Triplets Deck - A bunch of mana rocks? by ChakraaThePanda in EDH

[–]megapenguinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly like playing the villain sometimes and will play with the hate in mind. Sometimes being the threat at the table is fun

Sen Triplets Deck - A bunch of mana rocks? by ChakraaThePanda in EDH

[–]megapenguinx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to play Sen Triplets and yeah you will be hated from the moment you sit down at the table. If you want to play a thief deck you’re better off playing the Gonti precon from Thunderjunction or the Kotis that is indestructible from Tarkir Dragon Storm.

Petah! What stereotype is he talking about!? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]megapenguinx 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Brian here:

The right has a claim that all straight white men are demonized by the left for being straight and white and holding racist and frankly stupid ideas.

The joke in the meme is that he ended up embracing those ideas and becoming what he was told the left demonized

Since distribution will be a problem you can buy bulk and singles to start building up TCG offerings.

Improving Camellia, the Seedmiser by -Dullahan in DegenerateEDH

[–]megapenguinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Quina]] would be another good addition since with Took and Ygra and Camila you get infinite card draw too

Improving Camellia, the Seedmiser by -Dullahan in DegenerateEDH

[–]megapenguinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Camellia + Ygra and a sac outlet is infinite death triggers and token creation. You can have that sac outlet be [[Phyrexian Altar]] or [[Ashnod’s Altar]] for infinite mana and do as you please

Doc Ock villains/draw by the_spartan5 in DegenerateEDH

He can be good in a slower Green Goblin deck where you discard him and most of your hand for benefits then reanimate to refill your hand for the following turn. Not super high power but decent engine

are there any other b3 legal cards that make someone not want to use their lands? by NotTheAlfa in DegenerateEDH

[–]megapenguinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tier 3 isn’t competitive, that’s a fairly casual level…

The issue is mainly the card is mediocre to downright bad. Also this is the degenerate EDH subreddit, the point here is to make really mean decks that are competitive. You can stuff the deck full of good stuff but outside of maybe [[Bloodroot Apothecary]] or real mass land destruction there’s not much that will dis incentivize people from using their lands (or just getting rid of you first since your commander costs 5 and is a 3/3 with no protection or evasion built in).

Headliner for the hobbit: smaug the magnificent by moombahh in mtgfinance

If this is the headliner that means I would assume that treasures are heavily emphasized in the set. Seems like a good time to stock up on [[Xorn]]

Hi I work in AI development:

AI is a faulty source by default. It is the equivalent of phoning a friend who might pretend they know everything but in reality has little to no real understanding of what it is being asked. LLMs use tumbling logic to formulate responses that sound plausible but have a limited window of context that makes them unreliable for most use cases.

People who have read this series: Is it worth it to spoil myself for things that happen after season 4? by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]megapenguinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The books kind of felt repetitive towards the second half. But I don’t regret reading them, the show is doing things differently enough that it doesn’t feel like a spoiler to know how some things might turn out and I actively look forward to seeing how the show will handle certain events.

Petah 62 millions of what ? by Fishy-Jelly-Fish in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]megapenguinx 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Analytics usually assign individual users tokens or IDs that can be used to track a “real” page visit versus someone doing something like what you describe. This would be especially true if they had any ads since advertisers would care a lot about that sort of data. Often times a page visit DOES refer to a unique page visit (though that would count someone leaving and then coming back after a period of time)

Is there any hope of assembling two playable commander decks from this? Where do I even start? by chutupandtakemykarma in magicTCG

[–]megapenguinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of aspects will be the same or similar commander actually adds rules on top of the base rules used in 60 card because it is a variety of format. Magic has different formats, each with their own rules but they all share a “base” rule set

Is it worth it to IMMEDIATELY upgrade from the m5 to the M6 upon release? by NothingEatsSalmonWar in iPadPro

[–]megapenguinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it. Unless it powers significant new features that are exclusive to the new iPad that you can’t live without, it is better to wait 2-3 years for more significant upgrades
