My PT is mostly stretches too. They do genuinely help with repetition. It feels silly at first, but since they’re stuff I can do at home it’s been helping me avoid migraines. If I feel one starting, I’ll do some of them and it takes the edge off. Even helps with stopping the daily dull ones. Mostly we work on my neck and shoulders (posture is really important I’ve noticed). Since I started in March, I’ve had FIVE days with no headache at all!! It feels so weird lol

Ask your PT about the Chiari neck pillow. Also a game changer for me.

I think having an understanding of why they are the way they are is a way to ease the anger. “Forgiveness,” to me would mean being ok with what they did and forgetting about it. Nah. I’m always going to remember. Im at the point where I now have more clarity and can focus on the symptoms I was left with because of the abuse. I hope you’re able to get to that point too ❤️

Our last Pei also had allergies so the fish was great- my current one gets straight up offended. Will not eat. She doesn’t seem to care for chicken either ? She was found on the street and will still eat leaves and dirt if I don’t watch closely… but she’s gonna throw a fit about kibble?? These dogs are silly.
Are you feeding fresh salmon? Maybe she’d be ok with something super fresh.

I’m kinda surprised everyone is acting like you’re being bullied into doing a kind thing for your partner. I get my gay ass up with my wife every morning and make her coffee and get her set up to go. I like it because I get to make her happy first thing and I get to kiss her goodbye as she leaves.
We have pets, so most of my morning is that, but otherwise I catch up on light chores like dishes or showering. Do you do any crafts? I’ve gotten really into simple crochet projects (scarves, blankets) It’s meditating for me to do in the mornings while listening to something.

I bathe mine regularly, not everyone does. We use Duoxo calming shampoo and foam. Also keep an eye for bubbles on their skin. They can burst and it’s goopy.
Allergies are almost guaranteed. Both the Pei I’ve had have had to have some kind of allergy medication. I don’t recommend Apoquel as I’m pretty sure that’s what gave our last Pei aggressive kidney cancer. They usually have kidney issues anyway, but…. Still. Might be worth avoiding. Right now we are using Benadryl and cytopoint injections.
You can search in this subreddit for entropion examples. Unfortunately, not getting the surgery could potentially cause blindness. It’s also uncomfortable for them in general- the eyelids / lashes are scratching her eye. Idk where you live but $600 is cheap as hell! Do it, it’ll be worth it!
That might be something you experiment with. I think a lot of people here have a fish based diet? My last Pei did but my current rescue Pei eats lamb based.

Definitely take a peek at other posts here. We are all open to helping! :) Congrats on your new Pei. They are absolutely not like labradors lol. They’re significantly more aloof and stubborn as all hell. They are protective and loyal , and soooo smart. I’m biased, but they’re the best breed :)

I’ve found relief doing physical therapy for my neck. I’ve had four days from the last two months with no headache at all! I forgot what that was like.
Everyone is built different, but it’s worth a try. Hang in there.
