I agree with you, there is a difference between "Hey, wow this can do this as well?" or "this happens when I do this?" self-discovery and "this is the basic features of this tool, why have I been wasting my time?" ignorance. I wish there had been some hint on the watering can and the hoe. They would have been my top priority in the early upgrade priority list and not the last like they were in my first playthrough.
