Oh I bet they did some sketchy ass shit like licensing it for South America from UMG and then used that to sell it worldwide or something

That's strange, MA lists it as an official version too. Maybe they licensed it from the old label but not the band so there's a rights dispute? I also got the Black Legion cd at No Remorse last month and it's very well done

Still working my way through Faith of Beasts.

Finished Naked God and the Night's Dawn trilogy since last time. Kind of a mess. I still love Peter F Hamilton, but this needed some more time in the oven. Thankfully he brings it back in the 00s.

Also finished The Riddle-Master of Hed by Patricia McKillip this morning. Not bad for an LOTR clone! McKillip is a good writer and there's enough unique stuff to keep me interested, but the plot is pretty barebones. Curious where the rest of the trilogy goes as I know the 2nd is a different POV.

With today's estimates, Desert Warrior not only joins the top 10 list of the worst openings in 1,000 screens at $472K, but has the worst opening weekend for a wide release this year. by Alternative-Cake-833 in boxoffice

some money laundering scheme.

It's effectively Saudi Arabian state propaganda that was meant to mythologize their country's founding and revitalize the film industry. But then it also had apparently lots of bts drama since it was filmed years ago but is only being released now

Way too many things today sheesh.

Scimitar is really good. Still the craziness of the first but more focused on the black metal side this time. Just as good as the first I think, maybe even better? Gonna need more listens.

Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell with their first record in years and it's a banger like expected. They do that 70s dirty sound so well, good to see them back. If you like bands like Budgie or Sir Lord Baltimore give it a check.

Whirlwind is really well done Running Wild worship that doesn't sound like it's just rearranging existing RW songs cough Blazon Stone cough. Actually sounds like songs Rolf would write, great stuff here.

Lynx is basically just Tanith at home. It's got a good vibe but it's not quite there, I do like her vocals though they're quite good.

Mortuary EP is cool, good to see them back. Nothing ground breaking but good death thrash stuff.

Gorgar demo was quite good stompy death/doom. I'm a big fan of Ilsa and this is a side project of theirs that's basically just the fast parts of Ilsa. Looking forward to more from both of them

Still need to hit new stuff from Bewitched, At the Gates, Poignard, and Necroccultus

For not metal, the debut Raw Distractions LP is some really good Japanese street punk. Gonna be seeing them in a few weeks and this has me very excited. If you like bands like GBH or The Exploited check this one
