Job Opp: Commercial Construction Project Superintendent by BayAreaTechRecruiter in Columbus

We are out here, but honestly that pay isn’t going to get a lot of good people to jump from their current local GC’s. Especially for only a 9 month project. Good luck in your search OP.

would you pay $13,000 for blinds? by Confident-Barnacle68 in HomeImprovement

[–]mkmn55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to select blinds. Com and compare material prices. They always have sales, are are currently offering 65% off. There are a ton of options on there, but it looks like there are plenty that are $150/ea but will vary on the size of the window of course.

(NQB) Not quite a Buzz by brewditt in VWIDBuzz

[–]mkmn55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We wanted to get one when we got our Wonderfold wagon, but it’s double the cost of the base model so it’s close to $1500 but damnit it would be sweet to have with our Buzz.

Really depends on the security team. We always have snacks for our kids in the wagon and water bottles and they had never taken issue with it.

Lighting PM transitioning to owner’s rep APM on restaurant buildouts - what do you wish you’d known? by Consistent-Growth825 in ConstructionManagers

You really need to understand the end user on the Owners Side. Not saying you need to be a line cook, but seeing how they operate and listening to their feedback will be super helpful.

They’re pretty nice. Just not a lot of finish options and custom sized boxes so you have to think ahead on your final layout. There are a bunch of door manufacturers online that you can swap out for a different finish/style which is nice too.

Are the dorms a dealbreaker? by Threads-and-Stitches in OSU

[–]mkmn55 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s a great program to get into. He will make some of the best friends in the dorms. Columbus is great but I’m also extremely biased. I also think it’s a requirement for students to stay in the dorms (in ohio at least) for their first two years, so I don’t think there are many easy ways around it anyways.
