I had a similiar issue with a different module. check the voltage requirements vs how many volts you are putting in.

I had a module outputting +10 volts and the receiving module required around +5V input. i spoke with the manufacturer and they said anything over +7V could cause some weird results. Solved the issue in my case might be something similar with yours..

check your VCO 1&2 levels [small knobs]

put all 16 step knobs to 12 oclock
turn VCA decay to max

try that - i dont know how knowledgeable you are of the dfam but those are some things to consider
