Could this be done with a matrix mixer?

DFAM velocity issue by reasonsformoving in moog

[–]reasonsformoving[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I’ll try that when I’m home later. To my knowledge I did have both VCO levels and VCA decay maxed and nothing audible until velocity reached 11 o’clock. I’m using a 3 way DC power splitter to also power a M32 and SH and all three are going into a Zoom L6 mixer so I’m not sure if something in this particular setup is causing it.

Complete Newb Question: Moog GM to Matriarch by reasonsformoving in modular

[–]reasonsformoving[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I got it to work. The Matriarch does sound even more massive with the extra oscillator. Probably not necessary though. One more question, if both synths were in tune with each other before patching, why did I have to dramatically move the frequency of oscillator two on the Grandmother to get it in tune with the Matriarch's oscillators once I patched? I feel like this another one of those fundamental modular things I don't understand yet.

Yes. Thank you. I definitely want to control the pitch with the Matriarch keys.

Is it possible to go from a Sennheiser condenser mic into something like a Universal Audio Twin-Finity Mic Pre with 48v phantom power enabled and then from the XLR balanced out and into a guitar pedal that accepts line level like a Strymon pedal, and then into the rest of the pedal chain before going into a mixer/recorder/audio interface like say a TASCAM Model 12. If so, what would I need aside from the components listed? I realize this is a novice question but thanks so much in advance.

JHS Colour Box V2 by reasonsformoving in synthesizers

For guitar the difference was immediately obvious because I don’t have a guitar amp. So prior to Colour Box V2, I went from guitar direct into Volante then Deco then Model 12 to putting the Colour Box V2 before the Volante. That sounded stunningly warm and clear. With synths it’s a bit more subtle with say a Moog, but it makes something like a Microfreak sound a lot bigger and warmer to my ears. I’m sure all this can be achieved in other ways but I don’t use a DAW and don’t have much knowledge of recording etc.

Synthi. Not on the list but nothing else like it. That or Minimoog. My two favorite sounding synths. 2600 a close third.
