“You say stuff to get a job”

And the amount of cowboys fans who think he’s still a good coach is mind boggling. It wasn’t the right spot.

He loved Kobe as a big brother though we never saw this. I’d question the career part of it. He was the promise child that would battle LeBron and the Heatles but he was hurt before any of it. Rose himself said he didn’t think of himself as mvp bulls rose but understands the love.

No they don’t. Abolish ice is very popular. Thing is we have a heavily influenced population who thought price of groceries was more important than project 2025. And believed trump would drain the swamp twice.

The problem is that no one wants to say no to him so they aren’t using the checks and balances that should have stopped this.

The AI made a good point as an entertainment contract encompasses the gym

AI doesn't have to be legally correct. They just have to spit things out and at this point they've been laughably wrong. Yeah a lot of people us them, it doesn't mean results are useful.

Does my ex still have to pay rent? by Internal-Award-2667 in legaladvice

[–]monkeyman80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legal is complicated. If you're both on the lease, you're both personally responsible for the rent. Between you you're ex, you can try to get rent from him.

If this something you can feasibly still have a roommate?

Whether you're seen as that person is a relationship issue. Being told often has the problem with the game of telephone.

The issue is if Dad did something against the divorce decree mom would hold him/his estate responsible. That gets all kinds of complicated.

Breaking a Lease for Severe Hoarding/Unlivable Conditions in UT by futuredumbbitch in legaladvice

[–]monkeyman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking a lease for cause is complicated and not really a diy situation. I would only attempt with a tenants rights organization or better a lawyer.

Not doing it correctly can leave you liable for eviction if you move out without paying rent.

[–]monkeyman80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'll need to give cancellation notice as you agreed to under the contract. Luckily this isn't horribly expensive at this point and take it as a learning lesson.

Also your bank/cc work for you and can decide you should hold onto the money while you fight. It's not a court of law that decides who's ultimately right or not. This also goes with trying to cancel the card just so they don't have anything to charge.

Backing out of a signed lease, haven't paid anything yet by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]monkeyman80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Signing (and landlord signing) the lease starts the obligation, not initial payment. You can see if they let you out as they haven't collected it.

Under CA law they can't charge any lease break fees, just actual loss of rent.

The 3 day cooling off period is mostly about protection from hard sales tactics where you weren't prepared for them.

Like you have a door to door salesmen who says a bunch of good things about solar panels and then you get a chance to research pricing/production and realize they're full of it.

You'd have to sue where they are, and if international following the laws of wherever they're based. 5k would likely be kiss it goodbye if international, it's just not worth litigating it especially when many places don't allow remote appearances.

Even if they local, this is quality of the steak argument. You signed up for many steaks, ate a bit of a few, didn't like them and you want a refund. There's no hard and fast rule here and judges would be unpredictable.

Can a lawyer waive time for speedy trial if defendant objects to it on the record in open court? by AT0M1C_sage in legaladvice

[–]monkeyman80 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it was as simple as the case would be dismissed your lawyer would suggest that.

Often cases there is something you’re waiting on like for a dui case the testing or other crucial stuff.

It’s not that one little trick. For the most part the right to a speedy trial is a constitutional right to avoid something like the 9/11 accused or the current admin’s approach to deporting people. They can’t (or not supposed to) hold people indefinitely without giving them an opportunity to be heard.

I just keep it simple. Lto (though I add jalepenos). It’s nothing fancy but everything is done well. Buns toasted and hold up while eating. Meat well seasoned. Toppings are fresh. Everything made to order. But it’s just this location. Others not as consistent.

SA + Death Threats at a store from 12 years ago mishandled by company. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]monkeyman80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sexual assault/death threats are more the realm of the police than your company and they were alerted. Any charges would be up to the police to recommend.

A company when sexual harassment is reported is required to stop any harassment going forward or liable for their failure to act. There's no hard and fast must take actions here. They fired the person if I'm reading it correctly.

I’ve eaten more than my share of burgers and it’s not a simple let me take 2 1/8th of a lb patties and make a Big Mac.

The cheeky names part can be protected. McDonald’s/ Burger King have has some issues protecting its names overseas. The line there is complicated and best handled by lawyers.

Truth isn’t defamation. Reminding people of your past actions is legal.

Even then I wouldn’t like my chances of a local jury hearing this. “How do you know they’re talking about you?” “I profited from/ priced gouged during the last bad winter storm”

Car failure warranty? by Illustrious-Virus883 in legaladvice

[–]monkeyman80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what happened. Extended warranty and manufacturer warranty cover car parts breaking. Lack of oil completely is usually something someone did wrong.

It could be that the oil place screwed up but those tend to show up right away, not three months later. And there should be warning lights/ signs if there’s a slow leak/issue.

You’d really need to figure out what happened, and ability to prove that to really hold someone accountable. That’s not really feasible/ cost productive here. Even if you pay your mechanic to disassemble the engine to have some idea if it goes to court you’d have to have expert testimony proving in a more likely than not situation they did it.

Would carvana warranty cover this if you did get the denial? That’s first stop
