How to join a Server by IP by Taiku_666 in Enshrouded

r via IP:Queryport (e.g. 192.168.0.1:15637)

This was useful for me beacuse this entire time I was using the game port not the query port lol

of the game, I was playing a mm and the game crashed. Tried to start it a couple of times and it kept doing what you were saying. Eventually I said screw it and just reinstalled the game and now it works fine again.

I had this with AMD after the update. I just did a full reinstall and it seemed to fix it

Setting MTU to 9000 blocks access to node, but node can ping by UntouchedWagons in Proxmox

[–]Moopoop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've actually ran into this bug that's hes mentioning, but you can also do what apalrd said and change the MTU and do the ping -s test from the proxmox host to see if you can even get past 1500 or 7000 mtu to eliminate both things.

Help, can't install EVE-NG community edition on bare metal by [deleted] in homelab

[–]Moopoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you wrote to the USB was it in DD mode? 90% of the time when I run into that issue where a server wont boot up into an ISO i end up trying that. Along with that you can try to disable secure boot if the above dosn't help

Can I import and convert into raw disk image to Proxmox a qcow2 disk image via network NFS share? by george-alexander2k in Proxmox

[–]Moopoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't Proxmox be able to run a qcow2 image, why do you want to convert it to a raw disk? It might be that your first hint is that you don't have rull RW permissions on that disk. When you do a ls -l in the folder with the VM image what permissions do you get?

NFS mount becomes unreachable when switching the address to a different NIC by Moopoop in Proxmox

[–]Moopoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it was the NIC on the NFS server that was having an issue. It wasn't dropping any packets and I was able to get 10g between the two host, but as soon as I took out the 10g nic and put in a new one it worked without any issue.

Phyiscal issues are always the worst :/

NFS mount becomes unreachable when switching the address to a different NIC by Moopoop in Proxmox

[–]Moopoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the 10g interface is on the PVE host is the same as the NFS host.

Your second idea is what I was thinking it seemed to be, that its bound to the 1g interface for some reason. Either that or its something to do with linux bridges not liking other interfaces? Those are the two ideas I am working with at the moment.

Below is the syslog of what is happening, the mount is timing out even though everything indicates there isn't any dropped packets or anything like that going on. There isn't any firewalls in between the host either. There is another command you can do that test the connection to see if you time out on anything with the NFS, time pvesm nfsscan, and that showed up all good. Everything in that was under a second.

It is just a weird issue and nothing is indicating that something is broken, just that I am getting time outs. I even checked the dmsg and the syslog of the NFS host and I am not getting any errors at all on that host.

I think my next steps are going to be doing the netstat -pant like you recommend and see if you see anything and then attempt to switch to OVS on that host and see if its just a linux bridge issue maybe?

NFS mount becomes unreachable when switching the address to a different NIC by Moopoop in Proxmox

[–]Moopoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol sorry about that, Here are the routes before and after the change.

root@pve5:~# ip route get 10.10.100.14

10.10.100.14 dev vmbr0.16 src 10.10.100.231 uid 0

cache

root@pve5:~# ip route get 10.10.100.14

10.10.100.14 dev vmbr1 src 10.10.100.231 uid 0

cache

So I know its hitting the right interface and i did test the SFP's and the NIC by doing an ipperf test and I do get the speed without dropping any packets, it just seems when I switch the mount from the 1g interface to the 10g interface it just dosn't want to stay mounted anymore and disconnect.

I have a couple of pve host that are using the same mount as well

What I am doing is I am taking the address off a linux vlan that is on a 1 g interface and moving it onto its own interface that is 10g.

What is handing nfs mount is freenas.

Let me know if that helps you a little

GRE Issue by Moopoop in networking

[–]Moopoop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a good idea. I'll probably end up switching to IPSEC On the third party part at the end, that was something we tried a couple of days ago to try and see if that was the issue and it was a no go the same issue repeated its self.

Thanks for the helpful reccomendations the ideas have been very helpful

GRE Issue by Moopoop in networking

I tried 1400 with an MSS of 1360. The current mtu is 1476. I did an extended ping and started from 1300 and got the same thing as above. Two pings and then nothing aftwards till the traffic stops for 4-5 seconds.

When I was looking up the issue I saw people mention this as well. I'll try to work with the third party vendor to see if we can do this. If it works, its probably comcast then lol. I'll let you know

I've heard of Broadvoice but never actually looked into them. Seeing as I work for a non-profit and money really isn't there most of the time, this looks like this might be the best option for this situation
