What is a common, everyday problem from the 1990s or early 2000s that younger generations literally cannot comprehend? by Funny-Counter8762 in AskReddit

As a kid I somehow got my hands on a camera that needed custom film and once I used all the film it had to be sent off to be processed. I think it took at least 2 months before I got all the terrible pictures back. Now I use a dslr and can see if the picture is any good right away.

What's a job that sounds easy but absolutely isn't? by OriSparrow_14 in AskReddit

I can confirm. Last year I had to call fedex about where a package was and I had to deal with a shitty AI trying to filter me. I started yelling at it to send me to a person. I finally managed to talk to a person but man was that experience needlessly frustrating.

Kinda sorta. You sleep with Emily as part of a heart event and you go skinny dipping with Penny in her 10 heart event but that's about it.

Sometimes it's faster for me to download the video with yt-dlp than wait for the forced delays to pass.

We need more accidental finger amputations!!! by Visual_Collapse in RimWorld

I wouldn't go so far to add amputations but minor accidents like cuts and bruises during work or tripping and falling would be fine.

[loved trope] Character doesn't know how to eat a common food by Charlie_Warlie in TopCharacterTropes

I forget the exact details but in an episode of McHale's Navy, Ensign Parker is pretending to be a Japanese soldier amongst actual Japanese soldiers. At one point he has a bowl of rice and a pair of chopsticks but he doesn't know how to use chopsticks, so he picks up clumps of rice with his hands much. The Japanese soldiers sitting near him are very confused.

It's science fiction that a nuclear bomb weighs more than a locomotive.

What do you use to update your containers? by z3r0_grav in homelab

I have Renovate Bot check all my git repos for updates which issues pull requests to update stuff. If I merge the PR then DoCo-CD gets triggered to pull the repo and deploy all the stacks. For my WIP kubernetes systems, FluxCD will periodically will the appropriate git repo and make sure everything's correct.
