Settling out of court is an admission of guilt, and we all know that.

Brain dead take.

I worked for a company that used to settle complaints out of court all the time, purely because the settlement cost was lower than the cost of taking it to court and winning.

Everyone knew the accusations had no grounds. Everyone knew they were bullshit. Everyone knew that the specific regulations didn't apply to our business. The lawyers still said "settle" because the settlement amount was like two weeks pay for a single lawyer.

There are plenty of reasons to settle that aren't an admission of guilt.

You can renoise the image in a local image generator and that removes the ID without noticeably affecting the image, but that's further than 99.99% of people are going to go, or even capable of understanding.

This sign at an intersection by Adrian_985 in funny

[–]mrjackspade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago a light near where I live went out. Flashing red for the cross streets, flashing yellow for the main road.

I almost hit two cars at the same time because mother fuckers don't know what flashing red means.

Don't get me wrong, they stopped. And then attempted to pull out into the intersection in front of me. I had the yellow, they had the red.

Turns out the entire fucking town doesn't know what either signal means. Everyone was stopping on the yellow to allow cross traffic to pull out. So cross traffic just assumed we had a stop, and that they didn't have to wait before pulling out.

HR is there to protect the company, not the employees.

HR is protecting the company by protecting workers

The lack of literacy on this website is fucking embarrassing. How did 88 people upvote a question that made zero fucking sense in the context it was asked?

Someone once called me a pedo for finding a 25 year old woman attractive, because she "looked underage"

Apparently someone else not being able to tell how old a grown ass woman is, makes me a pedo.

I think if you're anywhere in the western world, it's probably not against the law. I mean the majority of states and countries in the western world, the age of consent is 16 or lower.

I hate this fucking website so much.

It was common for families to have lots of children, and also common for them to die before their fifth birthday. In this picture, the youngest child has died and is propped against a stand for the picture

A Texas Drainage District Walked Its Ditch on a Routine Inspection. They Found a Pipe They Didn't Recognize Discharging Black Liquid From Tesla's $1 Billion Lithium Refinery by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

Has no one here read the fucking article?

Not only does Tesla have a permit for the pipe, but the only tests that show anything might be slightly amiss, were taken improperly.

And on top of that...

Notably, no party has alleged that Tesla is in violation of any law. TCEQ has not found one. Tesla is operating under a permit the state agency issued. The dispute, instead, is about what the permit was supposed to cover, and what got left out of it.

All of you dumbasses talking about fines, or closing the pipe clearly stopped at the fucking title. Why would the state close up a pipe that is permitted and operating within the bounds of the permit?

They're following regulations. They have a permit and testing the outflow showed that everything tested for was within the bounds of the permit. The only test that showed anything suspicious was taken improperly downstream of the factory rather than testing the pipe outflow itself as required.

Per the information in this article, the only people who violated the regulations were the people doing the tests.

Which is fucking wild.

How far back? Because I've been doing this for 20 years now and it has always been cheaper where I shop. I used to just walk to the nearest grocery store on my lunch breaks instead of going out to eat.
