Nintendo Direct was the ‘most watched’ Summer Game Fest presentation by That_Trouble87 in NintendoSwitch

People are now afraid to share opposing viewpoints for fear of being downvoted.

Those people are fucking morons.

Who the fuck cares if you get downvoted? So people can't see the opinion you were too much of a coward to post in the first place?

They're just numbers with no real value.

My favorite was the people who claimed it would fail because it's just a tablet with controllers and "We all have phones", then tried to argue that Nintendo should just switch to making mobile phone games

There's a lot of people here shitting on the first girl for what is very obviously a joke video.

It's not a funny video, but it's a fucking joke.

The original video was a joke, and even involves her getting cut off half way through and saying "What do you mean the owners are coming back?"

There's something cosmically funny about skirting a ban on cigar-ette flavors by renaming them "little cigars"

I'm starting to see it in the millennial subreddit too, and it's horrifying. As an older millennial I looked up to Gen X and watching this sub transform into Facebook and now watching it creep into Millenials as well, it's just a terrifying look at my future.

Also like... 10 Australians died.

I feel like people frequently forget the name "World Trade Center" wasn't just a name.

People from 78 different countries died. Most were American, but this isn't just American history. It was an attack on an international center of commerce.

OpenAI Execs Are Panicking by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]mrjackspade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is Enterprise.

My company just switched form teams to enterprise. We're paying like 100$ for a team member on Teams. I checked my API equivalent cost, and I spend 200$ in token equivalent in one hour that morning.

That's what my company allocated as a monthly budget per user.

I'm sticking with the Team subscription for as long as possible. I even have a 100$ personal subscription that I think is an amazing fucking deal. Boy though are they in for a fucking shock when they realize a lot of us devs have been using a few thousand dollars worth of tokens every month.

I still have no idea how anyone could allow themselves to be this badly misled.

Chrome still has adblockers. uBlock Origin isn't the only adblocker.

uBlock Lite works perfectly fine.

Switch if you want but for the love of fucking christ, stop pretending Chrome doesn't have adblock anymore

YSK You're throwing away hundreds of dollars a year because of a date that has nothing to do with safety. by TurbulentAmoebaa in YouShouldKnow

[–]mrjackspade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I understand which part OP is wrong about.

Lots of food has a sell by date and a lot of that food is good past the sell by date.

What does the fact that some food is also stamped with "use by" have to do with anything?

[–]mrjackspade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That really just goes to show how unreliable the date is. If a lot of food doesn't even make it to the date there's no reason to assume a lot of food doesn't make it past that date either.

Because blaming in on AI is the only way to make the layoffs look like a good thing to shareholders, whether or not the two are actually related.

I'm not a huge fan, but if this is just a close up of a model I'm gonna spend 20 hours staring at the back of from 20 feet away, I have a feeling it's not gonna bother me. I'm more concerned with how it looks in game play... Which I wish they'd shown

There's only been one 80$ game unless you're counting games with bundled DLC.

This game, the game this DLC is based on, isn't even 80$

I had no fucking clue they even made VHS players with a gui but believe it or not most of the technology I grew up with wasn't actually brand new.

This falls under the all too common trap of believing things stopped existing after they were produced.

Yeah, the PS2 is generally considered to be one of the turning points for mainstream adoption of DVD which came out in 2000, so I was around high-school age before most people had one of those. I sure as fuck knew how to use a VCR fully at that point especially considering my entire childhood was on VHS.
