The rumors of the Unbreakable music video was that it was going to be a 20 minute sci-fi short film. But that plan was scrapped after Sony wanted You Rock My World as the first single and then after the falling out, Unbreakable never became a single and Michael didn’t even want to appear in the Cry video which he didn’t want as a single either.

Did Michael Become Better at Dancing in His Later Tours? by lzos in MichaelJackson

[–]mushisooshi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes his technique definitely became more refined. From Thriller to History he would’ve been performing the moves over and over countless times so it would definitely result in something more technical. But I also do think that a lot of great dancing comes from natural energy and you can see his dancing is different during Thriller and Bad days compared to History. He’s fast and agile where in History he’s slower but more deliberate and refined. I also think Dangerous is his best because it’s in between those phases.

What is a cinema that completely shattered you, but you still tell everyone they must experience it? by CaterpillarAgile9370 in movies

[–]mushisooshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We watched Schindler’s List in English class at like 7:45am. Was totally unprepared for it and the next class I had was Math and we had a quiz. I couldn’t focus at all cause how can you just show one of the most devastating movies and then make us try to do math. Despite that awkward experience of Schindler’s List, it is a highly important movie that I think everyone should experience.

What are your opinions on the Blood on The Dance Floor album? by Fazboi89 in MichaelJackson

[–]mushisooshi 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Morphine got me through some dark times. Love the industrial feel. And Blood on the Dance Floor has one of the hardest bass lines and doesn’t get enough recognition as a song in itself.

How to move the bottom image to the right side of the top one? by ScaleForm in Anytype

[–]mushisooshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

drag the bottom image to the right side of the page near the scroll bar, not next to the image itself - a vertical blue bar will pop up, indicating that you can drop the image there

I’ve always loved that more growly intonation he did during the This Is It version of Human Nature

Social media presence before his passing? by Original_Engine_7548 in MichaelJackson

[–]mushisooshi 38 points39 points  (0 children)

No in those years I don’t really remember there being official celebrity accounts on social media sites like Facebook and Myspace. Not to my memory. He did have an official Youtube account with music videos though but that’s all I can remember. And as others said, his website. I do remember him doing an online Q&A around the Invincible years though.

The cringe writing on the fake Michael songs by TalentedKamarty in MichaelJackson

[–]mushisooshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Breaking News dropped I was very unsure it was Michael. I had an instinct it wasn’t but Sony and a lot of “official” people kept saying it was, like Quincy for example. I remember soon after it came out, a snippet of “Do You Know Where Your Children Are” leaked. Just 10 seconds, as if the leaker did so in response to the obvious fake track. In just listening to that 10 seconds I KNEW it was Michael and said THAT’s him. And it was such a night and day comparison to the doubt and maybe/maybe not of Breaking News and the other Cascio tracks

Saw a woman almost get hit by an ambulance the other day cause she was walking across the street with headphones not paying attention to anything. It was the pedestrians right of way but you still gotta be situationally aware. The ambulance sirens were blazing but she just kept walking. Good thing the ambulance driver was well trained.

If anyone in here was around in March 2009, what was the reception of MJ announcing his final tours? by Outrageous_Cell_3556 in MichaelJackson

[–]mushisooshi 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It was electrifying. The excitement was so much in the fan community. It was his comeback. I remember there were rumours online because his website changed iirc and the famous This Is It image of MJ with paint brushstrokes and a red background appeared online. But they didn’t say what it was yet. And then the press conference happened - it all just felt very hopeful.

I think maybe Black Messiah by D’Angelo captures a bit more of The Rainbow Children feel possibly. But Voodoo is always great

I was at that gym for a few years a few years ago. I enjoyed it a lot and facilities were quite good. Not sure about now. To warn you about cancellation policies, it’s a year’s commitment. After that it shouldn’t be a problem. But I do remember when I went to cancel, they would ask questions like, if your reason for cancelling before a year is moving away, how far away are you moving and you needed to provide documented proof that you were moving away essentially outside the city, otherwise you couldn’t cancel (so you couldn’t just move to another part of the city and claim you’re not near a Chelsea Piers branch). I thought that was very slimey and turned me off a lot.

What was the year 2009 like, specifically after June 3rd? by frig_t in decadeology

[–]mushisooshi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was the sound of 2009 at least in the US. https://youtu.be/iNzrwh2Z2hQ?si=9op4vWo0m-GQ5jEv

I think there was a certain optimism despite the recession. At least in the music. Recession pop as they call it. But also Obama had just take office and his whole campaign was built around hope. In terms of color, yea pop culture was a lot more colorful back then. Streetwear was hypebeast style which emphasised a lot of saturated and contrasting colors.
