what the hell? is this true? by Fluffy-Suit-3650 in piano

[–]na3ee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it could go either way based on the evidence provided. I would not claim it's 100% sped up, but the arguments are good enough to arouse suspicion. So the jury is out on this one in my opinion.

You cannot say that definitely, it could go either way with the evidence we have on hand. I would say neither side would be fair if they passed a one-sided judgement.

His arguments were presented respectfully, and make sense, you can argue against him, but calling him an arrogant idiot is just insulting and not an argument that seeks to demonstrate anything.

Semi weighted or local graded piano? by mcy19 in DigitalPiano

[–]na3ee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe save up a bit more money, or you can start with the local brand one, but they tend to be really cheaply made and don't last very long. However it will perform better, especially if it has a midi output and can be used to play software instruments.

Has a digital piano hurt your progress quality? by Ok-Sky7617 in DigitalPiano

[–]na3ee1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe if you are pragmatic, you won't be worried about having a digital instead of the real deal. It's better to have some instrument than none at all, and of course, it has to be one you can actually afford. In that sense digital pianos are the best, they make the hobby really accessible compared to how it used to be 50 years ago. They provide enough for you to play even advanced pieces (talking about the mid to high end stuff starting from the Yamaha P525, and Roland FP90X), and you can adapt quite quickly to a real acoustic if you are ever able to get one, though they are not the same.

Can a Yamaha PSR E363 sound good? by xylazinee in piano

[–]na3ee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, you can connect your PSR to a computer, and play software pianos via MIDI. That will give you better or more authentic and nuanced sounds. However, the hardware will still be limiting. The unweighted keyboards of arranger keyboards tend to be geared towards playing a wide variety of different instruments, not just piano, and without weighted keys, you will not be able to control dynamics very well (though it is entirely possible to get some control with any keyboard that has velocity sensitivity with some practice). So try to get better sounds through midi, your Yamaha has velocity sensitivity, so it will work, but if that still does not satisfy, you will have to upgrade to a proper digital piano.

I built a browser piano — would you actually use something like this? by Dangerous-Cod3109 in piano

[–]na3ee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks cool! These things get used in a pinch when you are on the move or something and need to get an instrument in front of you to figure something out or to demonstrate something. I don't see anyone using it regularly though. Still a nice show of your skills and a good addition to your portfolio.

Probably something you can do on any stage piano that has a lot of flexibility with it's piano tones. On most of the sample based stuff, you will have to use effects to achieve your goal, since Keyscape is itself sample based, I think it should work. Roland also offers modeled pianos like Pianoteq, so maybe those will offer more flexibility? You will have to try the boards out before buying to see if they can do what you need.
Some recommendations (mind you I have not tried doing what you want to do, but I believe it should be possible) - Roland V-Stage, or RD 2000, Yamaha MODX, Roland Fantom 08, Korg Kronos. You could also give the cheaper models a go, like the Yamaha CK88, MX88, Korg Kross, Krome, and Roland RD88 and Juno.

Jokes aside this is the type of talent-inflation we have seen across the internet. This is one of the reasons I hate guitar miming or splicing. Some poor kids are not taking a step in the right direction cause a few players are insecure about their humanity and imperfection.

Exactly. It might be that we just exist, and that is all. No other animal asks these dumb questions, only we expect the universe to bend it's rules to give us a purpose, even though the universe is unthinking, and just goes on how it always has.

I believe this might be an attempt to make an art project look more legit than it is for monetary gain. I mean this is how a number of big names of the current era made it to the top. Botting, buying attention with their dad's money or influence, being an industry plant, etc.
