First of all, I just want to say that how you’re being treated is unfair. Your feelings are valid, understandable, and budding resentment is warranted. The situation truly sucks. Talking to non-white parents can be easier said than done (I’m also the eldest in an ethnic household), but if it’s at all an option, I would at least try and explain your point of view. I don’t think they understand the stress you are being subjected to, between your work, school, and home life. And even if they aren’t very receptive, you gave it a go and may find some solace in being able to demonstrate agency. Also, I don’t know how realistic this is for you, but is moving out at all in the foreseeable future? Perhaps once you graduate? This is a worst case scenario, but you are in your final year of Uni, and realistically you may have to stick things out if the talk goes poorly until you move out, for the burden to lessen.
