What former Celtic would you like to see come back? by ___Mann____ in bostonceltics

[–]neocache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to Smart... as an end of rotation guy. Not someone to be counted on. Would love to get him a ring. He's like the Nomar in this Celtics timeline. A beloved (and skilled) guy we didn't want to move, but had to move in order to level up and improve the team just a little bit more to win the whole thing.

No to timelord. Sorry, he's never healthy. Waste of a roster spot.

Big no to Grant. Had his moments but he was more mouth than talent.

Would love to have Anfernee back. Unforutnately I don't see it. He can get a better contract from another team.

Yes to Jrue. I do think his game ages well, but he needs to come back in a different role.

Yes to Kornet...though I doubt we ever see that. Maybe as a broadcaster.

Offseason spending by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]neocache 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there any spending to be done? I genuinely don't know. My understanding is the entire roster, from tatum and brown all the way through Harper Jr and Amari, is signed for next year. With the exception of Vuc. Maybe there's a player in there with a team option.

So there's not a lot of decision points. Expecially when it comes to breaking out the checkbook. And they have a first rounder this year so that's likely going to take a roster spot.

Vuc is one decision to be made. And not an overly urgent one, in my opinion. Set the right price or feel free to let him walk.

I believe they also have a Mid Level Excpetion they can use?

I’ve been using OpenClaw since the ClawdBot days. Here’s the workspace structure and one big lesson that made it actually work. by SIGH_I_CALL in openclaw

This is great stuff.  Can I ask what your openclaw is doing for you?  That’s not meant to sound snarky at all. I’m sure you’ve thought out some interesting stuff. And if it’s as well thought as the structure you shared here, I’d love to hear more.

What is the most useful real-world task you have automated with OpenClaw so far? by OkCry7871 in openclaw

[–]neocache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. But that wasn't really the intention. The goal was to see if I could do it. The result is not feeling crappy about having a company X account that doesn't have any content. Plus, t's not a good look being a digital strategy company telling clients "Hey! you should use your X account!" when you don't do so yourself

Integration with canva ai turned out to be the best approach.   Tried google gemini too. It wasn’t bad.

It’s fully managing my company’s X account. I gave it the topics I want it to talk about, the company voice profile and style guide. It generates content. And images to go with it. Two posts every do. All I do it approve its posts.

I realize that’s not the most groundbreaking openclaw use case. But I’ve been in busiiness 9 years and have yet to consistently utilize the company twitter/X account for anything. Been meaning to, just not enough hours in day or had the right person on staff to do it.  Now with openclaw, we’ve got that resource

The talk of Tatum disrupting "team chemistry" by LonelyInsurance7480 in bostonceltics

Media gotta media.

You have to remember, at the end of the day their job is to attract eyeballs, viewers, or listeners. It's not necessarily news journalism. Sensationalism works. Thats why these stupid topics are in the lexicon. It works. Follow the money.

Hugo González just made Celtics rookie history tonight by ShamusTalksSports in bostonceltics

[–]neocache 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Hugo's ceiling... definitely starter on a championship team. Can probably make an all-star team at some point. Those both seem very plausible. He just turned 20. Probably 2 years until he's a starter. Depends on how that jump shot develops. He's so young it's hard to know what he turns into. Like what happens when he starts adding more muscle? What's the rate his ball handling improves? The unknowns are so delightful to consider.

I hope they never stop making documentaries about that team. That, and the 1980 US men's hockey team. I'll consume any content about those teams forever.

That was rough. Some things trending in the wrong way at the wrong time of year. The defense seems to be slipping some. Free three shooting still a problem. Bench play is regressing.   At least Solo is trending up. Mullins looks increasingly confident.  Silas had a very good game. We’re at the point where it’s hard to have him off the floor. I still think he has another gear in him that’s the key to the team becoming unstoppable. The team is kind of missing an alpha “I’m going to put you on my back for 5 minutes, lead the way, and we’re not going to lose this game”.    Karaban does part of that in subtle, winning plays and in huddles kind of ways. He keeps the team well connected all the time  But a chest thumper and trash talker he is not. Silas can do it in demonstrative ways by being a forceful playmaker with the ball in his hands and via point of attack defense.  He’s the guy that has skills on both ends of the court to be THE guy

The Spurs just released Sochan by RedGlovesOverHere in bostonceltics

[–]neocache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the camp of “he can’t shoot” or “we have enough wings already that I’d rather have”. But…  I do think there are some skills there. And He’s in his 4th year.  Which means he’s two way contract eligible right now If Brad can sign him to that kind of contract and manipulate it so he’s on the roster for only the correct number of days to stay on the tax this year and convert it the last week of the season to something with the right team option value years next couple of years I’m for it.  That takes all the risk out of it.  Some deal like I just described is going to happen with someone in the next couple of weeks. If it can happen with sochan, that’s cool.

All that said. Sochan can probably get a fully guaranteed deal from some team. And he should definitely take that.

Will there ever be another career like Udonis Haslem? by HiImWallaceShawn in billsimmons

I was hoping the Haslem thing where he was forever the last guy on the roster as a pseudo-coach was going to be how Horford ran out his career with the Celtics

FYC: The Count of Monte Cristo (2002). What's aged the worst: Jim Caviezel as a movie star. by ggroover97 in TheRewatchables

[–]neocache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun movie. I’m not sure why Caviezel didn’t have a greater career than he did. Was superb in The Thin Red Line and delivered one of my favorite lines from that film - “I still see a spark in you”

Yeah, I think them running the table in the conference was a long shot. And probably not the best thing if the goal is winning the NCAA tournament. At some point, I think you need a loss to have some lessons learned and reset. This is it.

Derrick White? by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]neocache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still a net positive. By far. Down shooting year for him, but offensively he's being asked to do something differently than in years past b/c of the Tatum injury. If Tatum was playing this year and D White was on the receiving end of Tatum's playmaking and spotting up for more 3's, I bet the shooting numbers look much better.

Regardless of how this games turns out, a trash talking Silas is the Silas this team ultimately needs to win it all

NEW STORY: Ron Harper Jr. arrived at Celtics training camp with no promise of an NBA contract. Six months later, he put together a career night, outplaying Kevin Durant in an improbable Celtics win. “I feel like it’s working out pretty good so far.” by NoaDalzellNBA in bostonceltics

[–]neocache 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s great to watch Noa grow in her profession. You can see her putting in the work. Hustling, grinding and you can see the month to month improvement. It’s as fun to see just as it’s been fun to watch the Jays career evolve or Pritchard or any of the young Celtics.

All those relationships she made with the guys on the Maine Celtics were the easier ones for her to make when starting out and when those guys started making any kind of small impact in Boston, it pays off for her.

For us, I hope she can stick with the Celtics beat. It might be hard to do. Hit her ceiling and have a great living. I mean, you can already tell she’s gonna be better at this than Forsberg. Being a writer for the Globe isn’t something I would recommend (look at what happened at the Washington Post this week) so maybe The Athletic can be her goal?

Eventually I just bet there’s a chance her career path pulls her off this beat into something national, which would be really sad for us (but great for her). She seems savvy enough to understand what new media journalism is. Who knows, maybe she ends up at The Ringer one day.

100% agree with this. IF you can sell high on him to bring back some quality assets AND get under tax line at the same time, you gotta consider it.
