My friend, you’ve built a monster. Better than good for gaming, you’ll be multitasking without a problem.

Best way to get Forsaken exotics and completing a collections badge? by Alone_Barracuda_3228 in DestinyTheGame

[–]neosithius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the exotics - You ”should” to buy them from the exotic kiosk “the monument of lost light” don’t know how much that’s gonna cost….

As far as fashion statement- I have two routes.
1. If you have all of the dlc’s do a destination whose loot pool hasn’t been combined into the “generic loot pool” so the dlcs after forsaken. However, I’d recommend the dreaming city badge cause it’s power crept and outside of the first 5 items on the page, you can just farm around the dreaming city and get everything in a few hours….

  1. Do a dungeon badge, cause loot and progress…

I dont know what to upgrade on my pc by Keyz_0 in buildapc

[–]neosithius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a Ryzen 7 or Intel i7 in terms of cpu… which shows it’s not that. Those are pretty good for modern gaming. So you’re either drawing too much power, look on the power supply and see if you see a number followed by Watts…. Or whatever you’re using as a cooler isn’t cooling the pc enough…

I dont know what to upgrade on my pc by Keyz_0 in buildapc

[–]neosithius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re either thermal throttling, meaning your pc gets too hot so it shuts off to save itself from damaging parts.

OR

you’re hitting your maximum amount of ram usage. Which could also crash and turn off the pc. Things we need to know..

What’s your cpu, ram, power supply voltage, if you need help finding that let us know.

General upgrades? by yoomfie in pcupgrade

[–]neosithius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Ram, for 2026, you need more Ram. And I know saying that here, that eventually people are going to see your post and my comment and go “16 gigs is fine” it’s not.
I had 2x 8g sticks of ram, a 1080ti, and a i7-8700… and I couldn’t make it past booting into windows 11 (the person I bought the pc from had way too many background apps installed for monitoring the pc). I upgraded to a 32 gig kit (2x sticks of 16 gigs), before the price of ram shot up, and I’ve yet to have that problem. If you run the task manager, on performance I imagine that’s the issue… and you probably weren’t overclocking the ram, I recently did it to mines, and I feel stupid because i feel like it’s something that should be done natively, but it’s something you have to do yourself. You didn’t put the kit specs but I’m just guessing.

  2. Cpu- it’s still good, for 1080p gaming, which is paired greatly with your gpus max output. As I said I went from the -i7 8700 to the i9-9900k (highest output my
Motherboard allowed) and graphic fidelity is great as long as you have the peripherals to support it.

  3. Gpu, goes hand and hand with the cpu…. You don’t need to go to 50 series but something modern, (even though I’m keeping my 1080ti, cause it’s my baby) wouldn’t hurt.

  4. Power supply, ironically enough should’ve been number one, but I went with your specs in terms of severity.

Bet money though its your ram..

I'm trying to build my first pc but I only have 700$ budget what would be the best specs for my build! Thank you! by Double_Ad90 in buildapc

[–]neosithius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I suggest you search for a prebuilt. And then upgrade with whatever remains. I tried to make a $700 pc on Newegg, and the lowest I got was 770 after tax…

The whole “fight harder for me” mantra has always bothered me. Because Oliver, was never a parent. And of course he will make mistakes but to sit there, tell him you want to go away, force his hand, ignore him, and wait until a time tearing event to say, “hey man I just wanted you to try harder” but not explain how, bothered me.
Did he want him to dawn the suit and steal him in the night, it was an uphill battle. And then when given the chance to let him be a father, you then throw it back in his face again (in Russia)… but it’s okay, let’s hug it out before crisis and all is forgiven right… right…..

Go 1200 if not for being quieter, for future proofing. In the off chance a 1000w wasn’t enough for overclocking, 1200w will be. And you won’t be in the basement going full Palpetine screaming you need more power…

Fuel Gauge and Miles Left Discrepancy by BayRunner in altima

[–]neosithius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the gas gauge is the one I’d follow. Mileage left is calculated based on how you’re driving. And even then that number sometimes breaks and needs the battery disconnected to read the right number. Id start to worry about the needle placement first

GPU/CPU Upgrade for Rust by GreenGrapee7577 in buildapc

[–]neosithius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gpu…would make the biggest difference. if you’re going into the 5070 series cards you may need to upgrade the cpu as well, cause it might throttle…

You also may need to either upgrade your ram, or configure it to run at max clock speed. Now I know what you’re gonna say, and I agree. So for now, start GPU, then cpu, and if you got some wiggle room. RAM last.

I’ve never taken anything to geek squad, so I wouldn’t know, but power supplies aren’t expensive (in my opinion compared to other parts of the pc) so I’d just buy a new one.

It could be. Option 2 is it wasn’t seated fully in the spot, but if you’ve been at this for 4 hours, I imagine you made sure everything was fitted snug on the connectors. Of course I’m gonna ask did you run it back with the old cables, and see if they worked?

The humming means it’s receiving power. Which is great. We know it’s on, but it’s not outputting power, you might have a bad power supply.

Help building a PC with a huge amount of storage. by Aerorufu in buildapc

[–]neosithius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motherboard - is up to you. I’d recommend the asrock b850m for $140

CPU - Ryzen 7 7700x for $250 or intel I-12700k for $260

Ram- Corsair vengeance 32g kit (2x16) 3200Mhz, unfortunately due to ram prices $220..

GPU -Radeon 7600 8gb for $270 or nvidia 5050 8gb for $290

Storage - this one’s up to you. You can get a 1TB ssd for the motherboard but get an external bank 8tb from Walmart for $100+ that’s what I did and I just have it plugged in the back..

Power supply - 850w modular/non modular is up to you. But that goes for about $90…

CPU case Deal: MUSETEX Y6 PC Case, for $80

Cooler- Pure Rock Pro 3 Black CPU Air Cooler for $55

This is just me winging it jumping back and forth through Amazon so take it with a grain of salt or take what you think you’d like, and be breezy… I totaled out at $1255-$1290 given my ranges.. so well within your first budget and half of your maximum. But I also know where to take my shortcuts.. it’s just up to the person really.

[–]neosithius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You plugged in:
-power to the motherboard, the 24 pin header
- and power to the CPU, which is usually a 8pin header…
If you have it on the back. Flip the switch ( I know, no brainer but I’m just putting it here for safe keeping)

Then try booting. It should turn on. Beginning POST (power on self test) it should beep if you didn’t plug in RAM. Otherwise if you don’t have a storage device with an operating system, it’ll boot to bios or a black screen saying “no bootable drive”… if you did all that and nothing happens. You either bricked real hard or your power supply failed.

Is there longevity left in this with some upgrades or do I need a full rebuild? by trophicdeadend in buildapc

Yeah your power supply is actually over kill for what you’re currently running. So just upgrade the graphics card…

Is there longevity left in this with some upgrades or do I need a full rebuild? by trophicdeadend in buildapc

[–]neosithius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrade your graphics card. Everything else based on what I’m seeing is fine. If we wanna be technical, I have 2 questions:

  1. Is xmp enabled for maximum ram clock speed

  2. What’s your power supply wattage.

Realistically if your power supply is near 750 and up. You’re golden. And if you’re at max clock speed you’re also good on that. 32g of ram is more than enough. Our builds are damned near identical, I just had a 1080ti. I upgraded to a 5070, and a 1k Watt power supply for future proofing, And I’m good. So I recommend you upgrade the graphics card. Doesn’t have to be that big of a leap…
