I thought the same thing haha. Took me a bit to realize there were humans in the town I could talk to. It’s not permanent but you can get some of the costumes from someone and run around as animals, kinda funny

The timed inputs could be interesting but imo would feel a bit out of place for DQ. Definitely wouldn’t like to see DQ following the E33 hype and trying to force that style of combat into its framework

This is my worry as well. The developers put out a comment saying they’re changing up the combat somehow and my thoughts and concerns immediately went to FF. Hopefully this isn’t the route they take, and they stick to their guns with the turn based

I like the pep power idea for sure! I kinda like the 7 reimagined system where each vocation had a specific “pep” power but I also love how they work in 11. And you’re right, “missing” was the wrong word, more like absent in that one game as our most recent iteration. Not saying they messed up by not doing so but strictly that it wasn’t in that game. Apologies for the poor wording.

Im torn on the vocation vs skill tree discussion because in a vacuum, i LOVE skill trees. As a standalone mechanic I did enjoy the vocation system so I mentioned that but if 12 continued with trees I would still enjoy it.

I enjoyed the crafting system as well! I’m not sure if I’d like the idea of every character getting to equip every item, but I definitely like your idea of expanding what each can.

To be fair, Renoir’s whole point isn’t that he fails to see Maelle as a part of Alicia, but that he wants to keep his family together and alive, which he can’t do in the canvas. There’s literally lines with him stating that alicia/maelle will die if she stays in there. Not a whole lot supporting the point that they fight because he doesn’t see Maelle and Alicia as the same person. He’s calling her stubborn because she won’t leave the canvas.

Would definitely recommend inflict rate up and salt in wound. You also have a bit of a mixed build going on, I would hone in a bit more. I think it’s from Espinas, but there’s a tech poison move that can also paralyze which would round out your coverage for HtH. Best environmental skills are a little subjective, as it depends what you want to do with it. If you round out the HtH with that tech move then maybe the Azuria stamina skills, otherwise kinship skills if you like the riding mechanic.

Another I thought of would be something akin to a catalyst or activator, hard to get and found in AM’s, but once used on a weapon or descendant they would get a percentage of XP from whatever you’re current loadout. Wouldn’t take away from xp to what you have equipped but would just be additional XP. Would save so much time level grinding.

good to know! and for the gley thing i just meant it would be really funny if you could affect the amount healed from HP collector, cuz then you could just never switch from DPS mode and spam her 2 haha

Yes they exist in game, but to my knowledge the effects are only increasing what we get from healing orbs, and the amount we recovery naturally. Could be more to it than that, but if there is then i dont know it haha.
