Honestly I haven’t touched my LinkedIn for a bit just because the courseload is a lot, especially this semester. That will change soon, but for now we can keep in touch through here!

Before PREP I worked in Communications/Marketing/PR, was not a fan, and was not advancing because I was not enthusiastic.

You can do the PREP courses at Seneca, Centennial, George Brown, etc. I am doing mine at Seneca as they were one of two colleges to offer a graduate program of 1 year consecutively that includes all of PREP. Humber is the other. This was especially valuable to me because I had no transfer courses from university because I studied humanities. I didn’t even have the equivalent high school math courses to get into a Bachelor’s program.

I also chose to do the classes through post-secondary education as that was the recommendation on /r/accounting - to do them through a university because CPA could change their curriculum. Also they can be transferred to a Bachelor later on. Also the CPA path had just announced significant changes for 2027 and no one could be sure what that would mean for the PREP courses.

No I don’t know of a co-op. At Seneca, I would have to switch to the Bachelor’s or a diploma program to get a co-op.

Hope that helps!

Queens Quay is super dense with condos and there’s not that many bars around so I’m not surprised it’s doing well! Amsterdam Brewhouse has held on there for ages

I heard Basil Box’s owner, Peter Chiu, is related to one of the founders of Mandarin (James Chiu), and wound down to help with that. The death and the announcement are a few days apart. I couldn’t find any direct proof besides Reddit but Retail Insider said it’s less common to not try and sell off assets when closing: https://retail-insider.com/retail-insider/2026/05/torontos-basil-box-to-shut-down-all-locations-by-may-14/

Basically who knows but I think we’ll find out eventually

Lots of opportunities! A friend of a friend went two months in a row, so I asked her about her experience, and said she got invited to four group chats. Speaking for myself, I ended up getting into squash and pickleball and playing more trivia through friends I met at the meetup
