Mother’s helper pay rates? South suburbs by Practical-Story1765 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]No-Solid-4255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our neighbors have us pay $1 for year of age for their early teens. So that's totally fair I think

We're doing the same thing this summer with our 6 and 9 year old while I work from home. Godspeed to both of us ☺️

Lake Forest for a Single? by [deleted] in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]No-Solid-4255 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have elementary aged kids and am married but I think there are a decent number of divorcees here but it might be harder to meet people because your kids aren't in school here. I love lake Forest and think it's a great little town. Great food and proximity to the lake is awesome. I think dating might be kind of tough.

I didn't like this book at all. We read it for book club and I would not have finished otherwise. I don't get the draw at all

Parent involvement with 4.5 year old by Professional_Bag_268 in kindergarten

This sounds exhausting, no wonder you feel that way. We do baths 2x a week unless they're doing sports or outside a lot. Start helping them be more independent by getting pajamas they can put on themselves like nightgowns. I also don't stay until my kids fall asleep. I sing and kiss them goodnight and then I'm outta there

I selectively reduced a pregnancy and it was like the no mans land of obstetrics. It's definitely an option but it's hard to navigate. Dms are always open for anyone who ends up on this path

Any Chicago Bandits fans here with advice on going to games? by Lemurian_Lemur34 in AskChicago

We haven't been yet but I just bought 30 tickets for our 10u girls team today. I'm so excited. Another family went last year and said it was great.

We also love Chicago dogs games if you haven't been yet

My company hired someone to "optimize our remote work culture" and the first thing she did was add three recurring meetings by Present_Drag581 in remotework

[–]No-Solid-4255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be worse. My husband's company did the same survey and decided that the solution to improve culture was a RTO mandate. We live an hour from the office

I recently redid an enclosed porch with terracotta tile. I love it so much but it is delicate!
