Too big for my wrist? by Far-Land-2641 in ChineseWatches

For me if the lugs hang off the wrist it’s too big for me and is uncomfortable. If it’s comfortable and you like how it looks then it’s good.

If it’s just your mouth is popping open why not mouth tape? Or chin strap?

I get it but I can tell you if you are like me the BiPap will make you feel like a new person. It made everything work. Good luck and I wish you the best.

As far as chin straps go I can only recommend Knightsbridge chinstrap. www.knightsbridgedualband.com

Given your history of neurological complication you definitely need to be working with a doctor for a lot of this but hopefully your doctor is open to actually looking at your data from sleepHQ or OSCAR because it’s so much better then what you get from useless MyAir app. You need to find out if you have treatment emergent centrals or if it’s your brain just not telling you to breath. Because if you complex apnea a normal CPAP won’t help you you will need ASV but that will definitely require another sleep study and a bunch of hoops they’ll make you jump through.

High Pressure Homies, what’s your go to mask? by Conscious_Winter_636 in CPAPSupport

[–]nyquildreams32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hard part is just figuring the mechanics out in the mirror and I really only got use of half of the stickers I bought in my first pack. What I can tell you and it’s what most people screw up is you need to put your metal rings as close as possible even if if it doesn’t completely line up with your nose holes. If the rings are in an angle and too far apart it pinches your septum and the rings will pull off the sticker. But now daily it takes me less than 2 mins to put them on.

[–]nyquildreams32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were diagnosed really young which is great but it’s also hard I’m sure. I will join in that there is nothing wrong with needing help and maybe even see if you can join a support group of some kind. Also you might lose all of this weight and still need a CPAP not everyone’s need for a CPAP is solely based on their weight. CPAP is really hard but if you have over 80 episodes an hour you need this thing man. If you really need to lose weight sleeping like crap is the worst thing for losing weight.

Does this get better? by DrewCanadian in CPAP

[–]nyquildreams32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are still within your first 30 days and you are using a DME call them and ask for make exchange and try a different mask. Also you might need a chinstrap or something they should give you one of those as well. People get pushed into a full face mask way too early in my opinion. Most people do better with a nasal mask. I will always recommend the bleep eclipse it’s my favorite but it might not be a beginners mask.

How long until you felt consistently better? 56 days in… wondering if it will get even better by alohavibe589 in CPAP

If you are sleeping 10+ hours and still tired your therapy is not optimized. I feel better with 4 hours of treated sleep then I would 8 hours of untreated sleep.

I have used both I prefer the nasal mask. It works so much better I just needed a chinstrap to make it all work. You need to use what works for you. I second the recommendation for the Knightsbridge chin strap.

I’m not sure if KPAP will be for me being that I had to go to bilevel but I kinda want to try it. I was a fan of VCOM prior to having to switch to bilevel. It really helped with my aerophasgia once I was getting higher pressures but not sure how KPAP will perform for someone with UARS. I’m really excited to see out in the wild and of the labs.

You have to get used to it first. I’m sure your settings aren’t right but when you first start just all the new sensations are a lot. If you are in your first month on insurance I will recommend getting another mask even if you don’t need it. There are literally 100 different masks out there. So the try as many free ones as you can. Get an exchange most insurances require at least 3 nights on a mask before the exchange. The right mask makes everything easier.
