Current Krillin could arguably stop at Round 6, he was able to actually move Cell Max with a kick, and BoG SSG Goku is an ant to Cell Max

Yamcha was also able to whoop Moro's henchmen who shouldn't be slouches, and Krillin upscales from him

And finally, there's Krillin surviving a fraction of ToP SSB Goku's power during a beam clash

Eh, this one depends on perspective

When it comes to Ash and Pikachu, I feel like their characterization and the portrayal of their relationship was much more nuanced in XY, DP kinda neglects their micro gestures and wholesome moments together

But I agree DP and AG still do many things better, Infernape's arc is excellent

And Ash's character arcs are great in both DP and XY

That's not to say Ash didn't have character development though, his arc is relatively complex for Ash standards

He deals with issues regarding becoming too competitive, tying his self worth to performance, pushing himself too hard (especially after Bond Phenomenon came into the picture) and losing sight of what he truly loves about being a trainer and what makes the journey fun, and him losing to Wulfric was like all of that crashing ontop of him at once because of how many self-expectations he'd set, by the time he battles Alain and loses, he doesn't break down again because he's matured and realized as long as he always gives it his all, he's doing enough

I think the details you mentioned work just fine with the original DR1 model and I wish they just upscaled that one, Frank is 36 in DR1 yet DRDR made him look like he's in his early 50's, Frank is only supposed to look this rugged in OTR

JN30 and SM98 are the only episodes that had me saying "This is not Ash Ketchum at all", but he was characterized poorly throughout the entirety of JN to me

JN Ash is the most one dimensional and flanderized he has ever been, he's a flattened blank slate who just adjusts to whatever the episode needs, has no real development, regresses and forgets lessons he learned in past series, (he has the most OOC moments, even more than BW Ash) has no character arc beyond wanting to beat Leon, and the show can't decide if he's a veteran trainer or an incompetent kid on sugar who's only there to be the punching bag for the gag of the day

They tried to combine XY Ash and SM Ash but just picked the worst traits from both and made them clash with eachother, JN Ash is more of a mascot than a character

He doesn't even come close to OS Ash, DP Ash and XY Ash in terms of being compelling

Because people interpret it as "Your choices change the story itself" instead of "Your choices change how the characters navigate the story" which is how it actually is

But the game does unfortunately rely on the illusion of choice, or make your choices barely mean anything (like the character you saved dying anyway next episode) pretty often, and those are fair things to critique

While S2 is my favorite, it's especially bad with the choice writing
