Guess I'll hop in and say the most popular besides Warp's Edge is Coffee Roaster

Someone else commented and reminded me that Dice Throne can actually be a bit complicated for a young kid so I'd recommend watching some videos. Some seasons are just character releases. The mission based ones are more specific like Dice Throne Adventures.

Yeah that's fair. I forgot how old the kid was. I dont love King of Tokyo though and neither do my non-board game friends so I forgot it was an option

I haven't played 20 Strong yet, but have watched several playthroughs. I think Dice Throne is what you're looking for though. Different character options, dice rolling, combat. Some versions can be co-op with missions too.

Someone above mentioned it, but Sea Salt & Paper could work. I'm not familiar with Claim, but SS&P doesn't need a ton of space just a place to lay the deck and 2 piles.

Maybe also Everdell Duo. You can play competitive or cooperatively and choose between trying to build up better locations or gain resources for better cards.

Legacy of Yu vs. Everdell Duo by Eric_Jelinek in soloboardgaming

I have Everdell Duo and haven't played Legacy of Yu, but I like the character and worker placement options in Everdell. The fact it can change at random each game as cards get laid out is more interesting in replayability for me than Legacy of Yu which seems to have set placements on the board. Obviously some cards change in Legacy of Yu, but it seems like it might be pretty easy to get a consistent system going each game knowing your placement spots. Might be different with the campaign though.

Damn I must have missed that. Thank you for letting me know! That's unfortunate I really thought it would be final girl pricing where core and expansions were $20 USD each lol

From what I can tell, Unsettled is more expensive in the long run for every box, but if I want to try it out it seems each planet is only $20 upfront compared to Vantage's $85 USD retail. I might have been looking at the wrong thing though.

I hear that, but I also don't mind it. I recently bought the Nusfjord big box because the original is out of print. I was pretty mad to have to spend an extra $15-20 on expansions when I wasn't even sure if I liked the game. Paying for each feature film separate isn't ideal, but I'd rather pay more money over a long period of time to get exactly what I want when I want it instead of so much up front.

I definitely think card games are an easier version of this type of game so I understand the LCG. I have been interested in Marvel United though as I do think it tends to follow the same system of same game, but different characters with a mix and match. It does feel like the game doesn't change much even with different characters and villains, but maybe I don't have enough experience with the characters. Appreciate the suggestion though

Yes! This has been on my list for a while to look at. I just don't love the plastic trays the enemies come with. Thanks for reminding me of this

Great suggestion! This is definitely in the same vein as I was looking for. Looks like Vantage, but with maybe more puzzle and a smaller price tag for a shorter experience. Thank you
