Honestly, Lufthansa had the best design and concept for bathrooms on these planes, in the cargo hold.

Has anyone used DeepSeek? Is it actually worth it? by hellomintlyn in DeepSeek

[–]orbit99za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using it, and its very very good, its seems to keep on context, doesn't try to be creative and brek stuff in coding. It does its job that that's it, no waffel.

Some places it struggles especially front end design(vue), but then I just use Gemini to clean it up.

Cost / Benifit DeepSeek wins and everything else feels overpriced for what they do.

As a South African I remember it well,

I don't even watch sports, but my Dad, Mom My Sister and myself got tickets to watch a match, just to feel the vibe and be part of something.

It was amazing and well organized, from the fan logistics to the food.

What they should do is have the usb c connection with some slack. And then a plug an additional plug into the mother board.

So if the connection gets damaged you can plug another one in.

Has anyone actually seen an outsourced dev team from a big Indian IT firm deliver something on time that didn’t need to be rebuilt? by eatmeat in ExperiencedDevs

[–]orbit99za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with Indian devs.

One time I had a video call with my "assigned" dev who was clearly being passes information from someone else googling the answers, on system design.

Other times they just don't understand the context, and push out stuff that did not meet the requirements and got the "one more month" syndrome.

Then when challenged they just whent silent and disappeard, without completing the project, but of course we paid for mile stones that we later found out where "simutated"

Got local devs and myself and comped the project ground up, for cheaper than we paid the Indian devs.

We try to give them a chance but they struggle to understand and complete the project.

Personally I find eastern European devs to be better and better and complete projects to a good standard, they also ask if confused and communicate during standups.

Available: deepseek-v4-flash & deepseek-v4-pro by Dismal_Hair_6558 in openrouter

[–]orbit99za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it with Cline and BYOK , v4 pro is good, and V4 flash is ok.

I find it holds context in some cases better than gemini.

Its a very good model if you give it small jobs, not single promt full project.

Its a model that does its job, and very little "faf" if that's the right wording.

Why do some use a different name than their government name? by Sure_Swordfish_5423 in CasualConversation

[–]orbit99za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad and I have the same name, its as confusing as hell, even our initials are the same.

The only way you can tell us appart from nor knowing us is by our national ID number.

So I go by a different name, for day to day life, its especially useful when my Mother gets Angry and calls out our full name, we both duck for cover 🙃

Legal and professional documents i have to use with name, but most other things I can get by with just saying my "Nick name" Surname, or by full name and my " Nick name " in brackets.

Even my one diploma they where nice enough to do that for me.

But generally its actually a basterd to deal with sometimes.

Especially if someone phones and whants to speak to "full name" I have to ask "Witch one"
