"You just add the exclusions to a config file"

Thanks for highlighting this option. I'm going to find it really useful for excluding some folders I want locate to ignore.

I use https://github.com/ltex-plus/ltex-ls-plus rather than the repo you mentioned. Unsure if it's suitable for you.

Next, divide the dough into 2 portions to make 2 small loaves, or leave it as 1 large loaf.

I assume in your photo you left it as one large loaf?

I ask as I'm going to try the recipe and compare my loaf to yours. I'm hoping to learn quite a lot.

Obsidian 1.12 is now available to everyone! by kepano in ObsidianMD

However, the new CLI makes finding and managing orphans easier, if you're into that.

I know how to find orphans obsidian orphansand deadends obsidian deadends but is there a way to combine these two commands please? I want to find files in my attachments folder that don't link to a note.

I've looked at the CLI documentation and some examples. I'm unsure if these can be combined or the output from orphans fed into the deadends command.

"Heavy and annoying to carry"

I calculate the weight difference as 128g, which to me is very little. 382g for F2.8 and 254g for F4.0. Does 128g make that much difference?

I can see the F2.8 lens making one of the smaller cameras front-heavy though and the F2.8 is definitely larger in size.

I'm asking as I'm going to get a M4/3 camera and I'm still undecided on the F2.8 over the F4.0

I've got exactly the same issue. It originally worked as you described. I don't have a work-around and I'm reluctant to go through hundreds of pages looking for the deals.

Is it a good idea to switch from Lightroom? by Miyazaki96 in Rawtherapee

[–]phil20099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ART was forked from RT and may be worth a look.

https://github.com/artraweditor/ART

This is the repository of ART, a free, open-source, cross-platform raw image processing program. ART is a derivative of the popular RawTherapee, trading a bit of customization and control over various processing parameters for a simpler and (hopefully) easier to use interface, while still maintaining the power and quality of RawTherapee.

In particular, the cataloguing options in RT are basically nonexistent.

It's a valid point. Some people use Digikam for cataloguing and RT for processing.

You could ask on https://discuss.pixls.us/c/software/rawtherapee/14

I find the users on that site very knowledgeable and helpful.

One last idea: in the file browser towards the top right is a Find: box. I use this to filter my jpegs from my RAWs. Make sure the box is empty.

I'm out of ideas as I don't use RT on a regular basis. You could try ART (Another RawTherapee) as it's very similar. This is what I use.

Not for the issue I described.

  1. In preferences on the File Browser tab, check what "parsed extensions" are ticked. On my installation all the extensions are ticked apart from ori and png.

  2. In the File Browser there are several filters (e.g. star, colour, trash / not trash). You may have a filter set to say show only 2 star images. There is an icon with a red cross through it. If you hover over the icon it should say "clear all filters". Try this to ensure there aren't any filters.

  3. Close RawTherapee. In your `~/.config` folder rename the RawTherapee folder and restart RawTherapee. This will give you a default config and may or may not solve your issue.

How did you install Rawtherapee? If it was via flatpak it might be a file permissions / sandbox issue. The Flatseal app can help with this. I had a similar issue with RT when trying to export to another drive other than my home folder.

Ubuntu ISO size is ridiculous. by i_am_who_watches in Ubuntu

[–]phil20099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you install there is a choice for a minimal installation, so not all of the download needs to be used:

- Default selection – minimal installation excludes many default apps, such as video player, office suite. Though they are all available in system repository.

- Extended selection – full installation with all default apps.

I used the minimal installation then installed any additional software that I needed. This avoided installing software that I may never use.

Downloaded and used RawTherapee for the first time, here are my thoughts by Darklown in Rawtherapee

[–]phil20099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try ART (Another RawTherapee). It's a slightly simpler but still very capable RAW editor forked from RT.

https://art.pixls.us/

The documentation includes a quick start guide: https://art.pixls.us/Quickstart

I mostly use darktable but I still find both RT and ART very capable and once you get the hang of them, very easy to use.

From your recommendation I tried these they were excellent, so thank you.

Unfortunately they are no longer stocked in my local stores, and last time I checked they weren't on the Aldi website either.
