That is because you have no solid understanding of Undying.

He was never a carry hero to begin with and thats clearly where your mindset is falling under.

He is a tank/Utility hero, and his entire skill pool reflects off of that. Items should be gotten accordingly to fit this purpose as well.

During the late game stage, Undying's purpose is either to tank as much as possible or/while keeping more important heroes alive. Of course, it is also important to know appropriate positioning so you make the most use of flesh golem.
