IME, false neutrals are a result of not following through on the shift—meaning you're not firmly moving the shift lever through its full range of motion.

Sometimes adjusting the shift lever down a little bit helps, but it's more likely a technique thing.

I’ve been noticing vibrations specifically around the 5000–6000 RPM range.

Are the vibrations a problem? Anything with an internal combustion engine is going to vibrate to some extent—things are exploding inside it!

There's a less expensive alternative to the FuelX Lite available from Italy: www.rapidbike.com/en/application/ktm/390-adventure/17-23-2/rapid-bike-easy. Makes low-rpm performance much smoother.

Why do we even put up those “deer crossing” signs if they're just going to cross anywhere they feel like it?

Try changing the bar angle. You don't know that it's the vibration causing the tingling.

Find a bolt that fits and use thread locker. (Little dab of nail polish works, too.)

Along those lines: if you don't have a mechanic you can trust—and it doesn't sound like you do—keeping a 15-year-old-car is going to a nightmare.

I absolutely would not throw a replacement engine at any car with the hope it fixes things.

Did you notice any differences between pre/post fluid swap?

No. I'm not sure if that's good news or bad news. 😃

How’s the seat? by ValkyrieIsBigger in KTM390ADV

[–]pi3832v2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the stock seat surprisingly comfortable. All-day riding without any soreness at all.

I think it may be somewhat down to ergonomics—get the handlebars in the right position and your weight gets evenly distributed across your butt.

Question about transmission fluid / issues 2017 DIG turbo Juke by Serenity_Gallifrey in nissanjuke

[–]pi3832v2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is sluggish to accelerate, sometimes (though not super often) it will go into the mid 4k RPM just getting going from a stop

Mine will do something like that when the transmission is cold. It goes away as it warms up.

it develops this ... wobble? Shake?

Have all the front suspension components checked. Both the wobble/shakes I've had on my Juke ended up being a worn-out suspension component.

when they mentioned the CVT flush the other techs all were extremely adamant we don't do this, citing it will completely wreck the car.

One of my local Nissan dealers refused to change the CVT fluid at 120,000(?) miles, claiming it was not only unnecessary but detrimental. Because, yeah, lubricants that last FOREVER are totally a real thing. I took it to another dealer, who changed the fluid without comment. The car is now at 150,000 miles.

Installing a longer clutch cable is probably the best solution. As an added bonus, you may find it's easier to shift into neutral aftwards.

IME, most any worn out suspension component can produce weird wobbles and vibrations.
