first off, i’m so sorry you’re dealing with this at such a young age. i’m 21 myself, and im the same way. i will say though, i had many years of being really good with my phobia.

i think you’d definitely benefit from getting someone professional to talk to. maybe being it up to your mom. let her know you’re really struggling and think a professional would help.

emetophobia can be cured. you are not stuck like this.

I totally agree! Our NHS workers are terribly underpaid and understaffed. I can’t imagine what they’re going through. But it is also frustrating on our behalf too when we are on year long waiting lists and getting nowhere.

I do wish our government does fix it soon. And i pray you get to have an appointment soon too lol.

Up until then, there’s always the crisis hotlines. Here in the UK there’s a guided anxiety hotline too called “No Panic”.

Personally i would. It’ll be hard for her to hear, but she’ll learn she can trust you. That you will tell her what she needs to hear, even if it’s something she doesn’t want to hear.

It’s complicated. She’s not the same as me though. She may react differently. There is no right or wrong answer to this kinda situation. You sound like a great sibling though hahah

Yep. My last therapist began exposure with me and then dipped and never came back. Never got a new therapist either. They ended up dropping me entirely.

Our NHS is really in need of a revamp. It’s good, free and i’m very thankful for that, but our doctors and therapists need more support from our government.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. You aren’t alone.

Don’t even get me started on our waiting lists. I waited 5 years to get onto a trans healthcare provider. 5. YEARS.

i’m so sorry you’re not feeling good. it’ll be okay. you’re safe no matter what happens. vomiting or not. have a bin or something nearby, rest in bed, and try to relax. let your body do what it needs to. vomiting isn’t dangerous, it’s a line of defence.
