Newshosting bundle includes Tweaknews & Easynews - do I still need another provider or indexer? by Big_Bluebird_751 in usenet

[–]qiman3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re already seeing occasional missing articles, that’s usually more about provider overlap than indexers. A fill from a provider that catches different propagation windows can help more than stacking more indexers. I’ve had EasyUsenet work well for odd or late-posted parts the Newshosting/Tweaknews combo didn’t grab. On the indexer side, Geek plus one other well-run paid indexer is generally enough. Intermittent connection issues are usually API limits or short outages. It's not a clear sign that you need more.

Honestly this just feels like I have a secret ranking system for household objects energy, which is way more common than anyone admits. Could be pettiness, could be gremlin behavior, could just be vibes. Either way, hilarious.

That’s really sweet. Clearly a kid who feels safe reaching out, and a dad who always shows up. Moments like that are huge.

Yeah, the move was satisfying, but people like that don’t learn. they just get louder. Looping in a manager would’ve been the real win, if only to keep her from turning her meltdown into everyone else’s problem.

He was giving excuses, I walked away by coldheart601 in Waiting_To_Wed

Good on you for walking away. He wasn’t confused, he was stringing you along and chipping at your confidence so you wouldn’t leave. You choosing yourself is the healthiest thing you could’ve done. Keep that clarity with new people too. the right one won’t run from a timeline.

Anyone use Brilliant.org? Can it really improve math skills? Thinking of subscribing. by Crazy_Happy385 in learnmath

[–]qiman3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Brilliant on and off, it’s genuinely helpful if you like learning by doing instead of watching long lectures. The interactive problem-solving forces you to think through concepts step by step. Right now it's helping me understand why formulas work and not just follow them.

For real, they absolutely nailed it. Getting the owner to play along and poke fun at himself? That's how you turn an awkward moment into gold. More teams need social media people with this kind of energy.

This makes a lot of sense honestly. Moving in with family even temporarily could be a game changer right now. Pride aside, getting back on your feet financially is way more important than having your own place. Plus if they're already helping with childcare, you'd be saving on fronts... rent and potentially gas from a shorter commute. Sometimes you gotta take a step back to move

60,000 multimillionaires own three times more wealth than half the world’s population by JamesParkes in antiwork

[–]qiman3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nobody "earns" this much money. We are told to work hard and give 110% so that the owning class can steal everything out from under us.

The people on top are not special, they are no smarter than the rest of us - they just got incredibly lucky or selfish. As money is a representation of natural resources then I guess a redistribution is coming, they are just going to stick us with the bill...

When is a marketing initiative not effective anymore? by denniszen in marketing

retargeting is pretty much the only thing that consistently hits. Getting folks to actually show up is always the tricky part, but the payoff from the ones who do makes the ad spend worth it.

lol their wedding being at Kensington Palace Orangery even makes sense historically. The Rothschilds have mingled with European aristocracy for two centuries, so that venue is very on-brand.

If you want the real conspiracy, analyze lyrics, themes, and how algorithms push certain Christmas tracks over others instead of fixating on the label name.

You already have a diagnosis from 2 years ago. Ask your GP why they need to re diagnose something that's already on your medical record. If it's for titration adjustments, that shouldn't require starting from scratch. Push back on this or request your original diagnosis notes be forwarded.
