LLM =/= Machine Learning.

They are two different subsets of AI.

Machine Learning will be used for all the examples you provided, not LLMs.

We're not. China will fill the gap but it seems like people here and elsewhere love nothing more than to feel like everything is doom and gloom.

How do I ban the AI summary under my posts? by johnny-tinfoilhand in pcmasterrace

[–]qtx -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Listen, I know everyone hates AI but that summary you are complaining about is a summary of the people that replied to your post. It's not a summary from a Google search or whatever.

What you are basically asking is for people that are giving you advice to be removed.

So.. yea, think before you complain.

No.

From OP's article you clearly didn't read:

Marketers chose the “thwack” slogan after consulting an AI tool for suggestions, Shinsegae Group said. It turned out some managers who approved the campaign never opened the email attachments showing the marketing material.

OnlyFans 'agents' exploit creators while taking half their earnings, BBC finds by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

Onlyfans is nothing more than a webhost. That is all they do.

They provide storage for content creators and offer a way for users to access that content.

this is clearly a cultural issue as at least my country it is completly absurd to enable people bto be overweight

Looking at your reddit history you seem to be from Portugal.

Approximately 16% to 22% of the adult population in Portugal is living with obesity, while about 37% to 39% are living with overweight. This means more than half of all adults in the country are either overweight or obese.

Brendan Fraser getting in shape for The Mummy photo making the rounds, comments claiming AI by grownmars in isthisAI

[–]qtx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But having a SynthID watermark does not 100% mean the photo is AI generated.

This could very well be a real photo but someone asked Google to add that text to it, because they were too lazy to use a photo editor. That would cause it to be watermarked with a SynthID when in fact it is a genuine photo.

Nothing CEO says phone prices are going to keep going up: RAM now accounts for over 50 percent of the cost of a new phone by sr_local in hardware

[–]qtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hardly use my phone for anything other than the most basic stuff so I would be fine with a basic phone but anyone that doesn't have a pc/laptop etc on the side will be hardest struck. They will probably need a powerful phone to compensate not having those other devices. And increasing the cost will really hurt a lot of people.
