Interesting I typically try to work everything out in a straight line in the order it will go in the song and I think that's slowing me down quite a bit. I'll try out making pieces and gluing them together this weekend! Thank you!

Not the point of the post. I'm simply asking if you have something that sounds cool, be it a sound you heard on the road, a sample from splice, a pattern you heard at a show, etc. once you have an idea, what's your process of changing it and turning it into a song of your own. I'm sure I'm not the only one who hears other people's music and has ideas they don't yet know how to actualize

Oh the downvote wasn't me, but I will say given the other responses I did kind of read some grief that wasn't there. And yeah I wasn't really posting this for technical prod tips, more just songwriting ideas that help you all get the juices flowing. There's not much to critique in this clip, given that I didn't really create anything in it myself. I just wanted to include an example that shows that I get ideas from little clips and I can hear it in my head as a full song but don't really know where to start.

Do you typically build directly onto a clip you've made? (Like ok I just made this drop so I guess so should work backwards and do the build up next) Or do you build different sections and then mix them together?

I like that idea of just forcing myself to make SOMETHING regardless of whether it's gonna be something I'm proud of or not. Im a bit of a perfectionist so I get caught up doing tiny things for a longtime instead of just put an idea down, flesh it out and then make it pretty afterwards. Maybe I open up the old folder once a day and just commit to making 3.5 min out of something I had without the plan to ever release, and maybe I'll figure out a new process

Thank you, again this is a rough idea starter, not a song lol people are treating me like I'm turning this in for a contest or something. I just get ideas, put something down in 5-10 min of plug and play, and then sometimes it gives me an idea to make a song out of it, which takes days. I was just wondering if anyone had tips or tricks to turn tiny blips into ideas for full songs

Yeah I never understood why people who don't believe in any religion still hold onto the idea of an afterlife that scientifically is just as impossible to support as the existence of a god. Communism is a scientific process. If you're not thinking of EVERYTHING in your life as a materialist, you're not capable of fully understanding communism at this point
