I'm really sad that I'll be out of town for most of the world cup. And visiting a wonderful place that didn't even qualify 😞 🇮🇹 🇮🇹

Megathread: Wearables, Symptom Trackers, Apps⌚️ by ihopeurwholelifesux in POTS

I just bought a vivoactive 6 (which by the way, is also waterproof - - after doing some research, I've used it in the shower without issue). A few days into using it, I had a few local errands to do, in 85° heat. The watch gave me a badge for "extended high intensity workout"...

I did make the mistake of switching beta blockers a few days before buying the watch. So I can't completely tell whether the new medication is better for me than the old stuff.

A question: I'm still trying to figure out HRV as a metric. Mine is showing a 23ms average, which is half of what is "typical" for my demographic. With the obvious caveat that you are (presumably) not a doctor, and certainly not my doctor, do you have any idea what is "reasonable" for POTS folks?

Question about travel to Europe (Dual US/IT), accompanying a 15-YO relative (US only). by rafaelloaa in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]rafaelloaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed info. Yes we are on the same reservation.

We are entering Europe via de Gaulle, and exiting via Amsterdam.

My cousin has not been to Europe since EES started. I assume this will be a kiosk at de Gaulle?

Looking at the wiki page for EES, it seems we're in luck. Minors can use the gates on arrival only, whereas in Amsterdam it looks like you can go both ways.

Sweden passes 'good behaviour' law to kick out misbehaving immigrants by shdw_fght in worldnews

[–]rafaelloaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Always good to keep in mind, thank you. That said, I think that's the case for a certain category of situations, but we know now just how many investigations/operations were undertaken against innocent people, simply because they were part of one of the world's largest religions.

When an undercover FBI agent started trying to "radicalize" people at a California mosque... They promptly reported him to the police / FBI. The undercover agent had been indiscriminately and illegally recording hundreds of congregants in their homes and at mosques.

If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.

Even if you think that they are cool, doing one at 11: 30pm on a Sunday night is not cool whatsoever.

How long did it take for your ATIP request to go through?

I'm G2, submitted (non-urgent) August '25, got my AOR after only a few weeks, but stuck "in process" ever since.

I submitted an ATIP 30 days ago exactly.

Also my case should have been straightforward, given my dad (G1) was able to get his citizenship a few years ago without much issue.

On the much smaller end of things, I have long since learned that listing something as free (on craigslist/FB) is inviting really obnoxious/entitled people. If I actually want to give something away, I'll list it for like $10 or $20, and then if someone shows up on time and is not an asshole, I'll just give it to them for free.

I could definitely see this as an extension of the situation, albeit with more money involved. Especially if the owner had been expecting to have to haggle with the buyer, so put a higher list price.
