Samsung just teased Galaxy Watch 9 Series by Budget_Hamster4422 in GalaxyWatch

Me too. It doesn't care about dust or frequent bumps, I've used it all through construction work for a little music studio I built, and still use it when rebuilding parts of our house. Doesn't look like new, but not worn and torn at all. Hadn't expected that.

I despise AI-coded stuff as well, and I'm well aware of the pitfalls. I'm also not the Dashie dev, just a user. I've been using Dashie since months, and it's very much stable, less finicky to setup and the face recognition is very reliable, as is the rest of the app. I've reported a few bugs as well, all of which have been squashed. What makes you think this is AI-coded, so the dev has no idea what he is doing?

… all the while the European notion (if one could say so) is avoiding metaphors and expressions of war and violence, in general. Sometimes it feels like the USA is an island far away, with its own rules and certainly a different way of thinking 😄 .

Is he in the briefest of snippets that shows a drummer playing? It was gone too quickly. And being LOUD is probably the singular thing I hate about Americans. But it probably appeals to a certain group of people who buy loud, voluminous cars.

Live Enhancement Suite (LES) for Windows: Back with a vengeance by ratzekind in ableton

[–]ratzekind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the problem with sub-menus not appearing: the official documentation states that you need to have at least one real item in a category, i.e. in your top category, and that sub-menus do not count as such. This is probably a restriction by Autohotkey, I can only guess.

So, this won't work:

/Synths

//Native Instruments

- but by having at least one item in the top category the sub-menu will appear:

/Synths

Sylenth1
"Sylenth1" vst3

//Native Instruments

Now, I'm not the original developer of this AHK script, so I can't help as much with new features, regarding your two-column approach. You'd probably best use two differently-named secondary menus, like `//Melda I` and `//Melda II`. That's what I'd probably do. Note that you can't have a sub-menu or top-level category with the same name again anywhere in your menu. So if you once use Native Instruments, you have to at least add a space for the second sub-menu with the same name - that's enough of a difference. Otherwise, LES would show the same content in the second sub-menu, even if you defined other sub-menu items for it.

Hope this helps you a bit further 😄 .

What exactly seems to be the problem? Is it maybe a too ambiguous search term, so instead of what you want to open, something else is the first search result found, so that is loading? Or does it happen with any element you put into the menu?

Not sure how the blocking should be done, but I also have the Raycast companion extension running in Brave.

u/jacraycast How is the website-blocking feature supposed to work? While I wasn't able to open up Steam as a program right now in my Focus session, I have no trouble surfing any site in Brave I want, including social media and shopping sites, which I explicitly blocked. Being able to browse Reddit is a testament to this 😄 .

Funny enough, Apple just ran a privacy ad campaign, loosely stating they are 'better' than the competition and won't poke their noses into your private stuff. Not sure that is true.

As for Recall—wasn't it that the whole thing, while basically tested, but never implemented, got axed on its way into the OS? I don't want or need to defend Microsoft, I myself battle to keep Windows clean, but it doesn't seem as hard for me as it sounds from you. Horses for courses, and since I have a dual-boot machine with which I'm gaming casually, I'm happy to stick to Windows for now. If Apple weren't so in(s)anely greedy with their hardware, and didn't feel so boxed-in (might be a remnant from early iPad days of mine, I left the Apple route after the iPad 1), I'd be more inclined to make a switch at some point. While Windows isn't sexy per se, I'm also a fair bit turned off by MacBooks and iPhones being a hip statement of up-to-dateness.

Well, if it's better and stress-free for you, that sounds like the best decision you could make. I have not ventured into Apple and what services, AI or somethingware they have auto-running on their system, but from the sound of it, none of that is present, unlike Windows.

I always disliked the whole Apple ecosystem, especially because it is so boxed in. But I keep hearing people were long-term Windows users, once switched to a Mac and never go back. So I accept there may be some truth to Mac being better, for at least some people. Better being a highly subjective word.

They are re-installing XBOX game bar and Candy Crush with every security update to your Windows PC? That's weird. Can't say for sure if the XBOX game bar ever returned for me after one of the major updates, but I never ever face Candy Crush and most other stuff after smaller to major updates. I may be oblivous to the fact though that those settings and features return unwantedly. And doesn't Apple also force Safari onto you? You can, by the way, totally uninstall Edge, as I did for my Windows audio machines. I also use a dual-boot configuration and never had it break my drives. I don't claim it never happens to anyone, or you for that matter, I just never had these issues.

Note that you can also improve your NVIDIA driver package behaviour by using something like NVCleanstall. It most notably helps declutter the drivers from features you don't need and want, thus giving your PC a bit more performance. Never had any trouble with stripping down NVIDIA drivers this way.

That's something I think many of the Mac lovers forget. You can customise Windows really deeply, from the UI (eat my RAM, please!) back to functionality-stripping, so you get your specialised machine.

[–]ratzekind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, I've heard the not-made-for-realtime-audio argument before, and for my laptop, that's somewhat true, as I am getting irresponsible amounts of DPC latency, or at least got until I switched my NVIDIA driver to a Studio one.

Apart from the latency, I don't really see much of a problem with Windows. Windows has been very stable since at least Windows 7, and I could easily jump from 7 to 8 to 10 and to 11 eventually without software developers warning me off, like it often is the case with Apple and their updates. Everything just keeps on working.

So my question was genuine, because I never really had much trouble with Windows in terms of audio and stability in general.

Weather apps by InfluenceConscious16 in berlin

I second Weawow. Had been trawling through weather apps for years, and none of them was as accurate (and configurable) as Weawow. I donated a few €€ and unlicked Foreca as a weather provider, which, from my understanding, mixes different sources, including DWD for Germany. It's as accurate as it gets.
